I. INTRODUCTION
1. Reasons to choose the topic
Today, English is one of the most popular languages in the world. In
Vietnam, English is considered a major foreign language in many schools today.
English has covered schools from urban to rural, including remote and isolated
areas; From elementary school to college or university. Especially in some big
cities, preschool children are familiar with this subject. It can be said that
learning a foreign language is very difficult and to learn a foreign language is
even harder. Engaging students in English is a passion of many talented
students but in the process of fostering good students this subject, many
students can not help wondering and worried because each foreign language has
points Difficult different. As a teacher who is directly involved in fostering, I
have repeatedly studied the way students learn. How to organize student
activities actively, active learning, creative? How to create more opportunities
for children to practice their skills, to use their knowledge to communicate, to
actively communicate their purpose of communication? And I have been trying

A II. CONTENT
1 Theoretical background of the experience initiative
Innovative teaching methods aim at attaching importance to learners,
considering students as active subjects, encouraging active learning activities,
proactive active learning, active initiative in teaching process. In other words,
the innovation of teaching methods is the transition from the method of
lecturing, analyzing language - listening and recording into new methods:
teachers are the organizers, Students actively participate in the learning process.
The new teaching method will best promote the student's active, active, active
role in practicing language skills for practical and creative purposes.

In the teaching process, the use of teaching methods to guide students to
acquire knowledge in the fastest way, to apply that knowledge is a big problem
for the general culture and the Ministry. English in particular. The use of new
tricks in the organization of English language teaching activities is a successful
development of students' cognitive motivations for language learning, enabling
students to focus their minds on grasping ants. At the same time, it helps
students to use English in a foreign language with real and lively situations,
creating interest in learning for students, making students feel relaxed, reducing
stress. Boring with their lessons and help them easily receive and deepen their
knowledge, self-conscious exploratory, discovery, solve tasks and have a sense
of flexible application, creative ants The formula has effectively taken over into
practice and tested the highest results.
2. Real estate before applying the subject
* On the school side, the teacher
- The industry and the school have facilitated me as well as other teachers to
participate in the training sessions on textbook innovation in blocks and classes.
Having the opportunity to teach and attend lectures, the time for colleagues to
3

foster good English subjects 7th grade in and outside the school to draw
experience and improve professional skills. The management board is deeply
motivated to bring good students. Self-directed instruction in English for 7th
grade should have the opportunity to train more advanced students in the
classroom with advanced types of exercises. Equipment for teaching subjects is
quite adequate as textbooks, reference books, English classrooms, projection
projector, versatile electronics, cassette, video tape, pictures ... so. The quality
of teaching and learning is improving.
* On the student side
Due to difficult family economic conditions, some children do not have

enough time and resources to study. Some parents lack the attention, not aware
of the importance of the subject and the interests of the subject that their
children are participating in fostering. In fact, students are still afraid to learn
foreign languages, not bravely communicate in English, do not have the sense
of searching documents, reference books, self-improvement of foreign language
skills. They learn coping, not self-discipline and impatience. The quality of
students participating in the good student team is not the same every year, the
ability to absorb and use the children in the team is equally unequal, so the
results each year is different .
* The results of the situation
Prior to starting the program, I conducted a survey on the quality of
students at the beginning of the year. The test is in the form of a good student
test of 150 minutes. The structure is full of basic parts: phonetics, vocabulary,
verb forms, word types, writing and reading skills with textbook knowledge and
advanced English workbooks. In grade 6 and in the first 2 lessons of English
class 7 English textbooks. From the beginning the number of excellent students
of the team I have chosen 4 children and the survey results as follows:

By examining the quality of students who are good at the beginning of the year,
I feel that the ability to understand and use grammar in the work of students is
not good, they are not creative in reading comprehension skills and complete
sentence writing. That is why I decided to offer some methods to help children
learn positive and creative knowledge, they have the opportunity to practice
with you right in class and learn at home. effective. Facilitate students to
expand their knowledge, develop their excitement, skills and language skills.
3. Solutions to problems
Students are the central factor determining the quality of training because
no matter how good the teacher is, students who are not gifted in the subject,
who are not active, do not have the passion and interest in the subject. Fostering
will not achieve the desired results. Positivism, subjectivity, patience and
passion for the subject and guided by a good teacher are among the factors that
make up the good student process. Students need self-learning methods to
improve their knowledge and skills in the subject area. Activate your teacher,
learn a friend, strengthen pairs and groups, exchange ideas, review notes, test
your knowledge, or test each other, share your knowledge and help your friend
improve. Know the importance of English to invest time in learning the subject
5

enthusiastically and effectively. There is a specific learning plan and most
importantly, the students who participate in the refresher must have active,
scientific and effective learning methods.
3.1. Old School Approach Every student before class needs to learn the old
lesson
This must be done at home. When children learn self-learning at home, the
knowledge they have learned in the classroom will inculcate them more deeply.
In class, students acquire new knowledge that will easily understand the lesson
and have the opportunity to apply and. creation. An English class in the

classroom learns vocabulary, sentence structures, conversations, passages or
conversations, grammar exercises. Then what will you go home to learn? Learn
how to be effective and have fun learning the subject?
3.1.a. Learning new words
When learning a foreign language in general and learning English in particular,
students need to approach and recognize the first and the smallest element to be
the basis for communication in that language. vocabulary. They need to learn
new vocabulary quickly, remember and use.
- New word learning requirements:
+ Must write the correct word and word type of the word in English.
+ Understanding the meaning of Vietnamese
+ Standard pronunciation from English.
+ Know how to use the English word in the context of communication.
For example: cartoon (n): / kar'tu: n / - I like cartoon. There is a good cartoon
on TV tonight. Would you like to watch it? [1]
* Quick and effective way to learn new words:
Method 1: Write new words on the pieces of paper and then paste them on the
desk, so that when students are sitting at a desk they will see them remember
for a longer time. (Note to write in pencil for next use.
Method 2: Use markers to highlight new words in conversations or paragraphs.
6

Method 3: Use diagrams, thinking maps to learn vocabulary, structural review.
* Draw a mind map of the types of words of type A desk: (This is my desk.)
Student) A teacher (My mother is a teacher) We call it the common cold
because every year millions of people catch it. Everybody knows the
symptoms: a runny nose, a slight fever, coughing and sneezing. It is very
unpleasant, but nobody knows a cure. Drawing mind maps to learn new words
by subject, Mindmap theme…[1]

3.1.b Memorize the Sentence Patterns in the in English
Grammatical phenomena, word order and pronunciation are completely
different from Vietnamese. To know how to use a grammatical structure, you
must first understand the meaning and memorize the pattern. Grammatical
structure is the key to homework, but sentence patterns help children recreate
the grammatical structure before doing the homework.
- Requirement when learning sentence patterns:
+ Write the sentence
+ Analyze the sentence components contained in that sentence pattern.
+ Use the sentence pattern to put sentences according to specific situations.
+ Find the situations in the article using that sentence pattern.
- How to learn the sentence:
Write those sentence patterns in a notebook, including how it was set up, how
to use it.
+ Find the sentences in the lesson, exercises related to the pattern.
+ Think of the situation using that sentence. Example (1): When you learn the
structure of the question and answer the distance we have a sample sentence:
How far is it from your house to school? It is about one kilometer. * Form: How
far is it from ..... to ......? It is (about) ....... From the questionnaire they draw
their own grammatical structures, and rely on the sample sentences to substitute
information for similar exercises. They memorize this sentence pattern (and
many other sentence patterns), use it every time you do the homework and
7

answer the gap (and many other patterns) to help them remember the structure
faster and more accurately. . When practicing question-and-answer patterns,
students will practice in pairs, in groups, to practice communication skills. [1]
3.1c Practice Conversation The goal of teaching and learning English
To help students use language in communication. Students can use their

vocabulary, sentence structures and insights into real life situations. Yes, they
will find learning English meaningful and practical, they will love learning and
the spirit of self learning will be enhanced. But how to help them apply the
knowledge learned into the practice of communication? We need to provide the
children with the basics from the conversations in the textbooks, and then they
will develop on a case by case basis.
- Requirements when practicing the lessons learned in class:
Practice practicing conversation naturally in spoken language.
+ Question & Ask on the content of the dialogue.
+ Create a similar conversation.
+ Summarize / recount conversation content. (For good students)
- How to do it: Practice the conversation can help to improve pronunciation.
When reading, it is important to note the intonation and intonation of the
sentence. Students play roles in practice conversations and pay attention to
information changes or practice exercises. Practice the habit of communication
as confident, showing interest in the person you are communicating, if you play
alone, will stand in front of the mirror to perform.
Example: Unit 5 Things I do. (A5) Flowers: Would you like to go to the
movies this week? Lan: That sounds good. What would you like to see? Flower:
There is a cowboy movie on the New Age Theater. . Lan: Okay. Can you make
it on Monday night? Flowers: Sorry. I have to go to the dramma club. How
about Tuesday? Lan: That's OK. Hoa: Fine. Let's go on Tuesday. [1]
+ Do homework in the workbook, how to do difficult exercise types.
* Requirements for doing homework:
8

+ Do the assignments the teacher gave after each lesson in the classroom
+Do exercises in the 7th grade English book, reference book, advanced grade 7.
+ Need to understand the requirements of English exercises and ways. Use a

pencil to do the exercises
+ Do directly in the workbook
+ In the process of detecting any new words will underline and try to guess if
necessary, look up the dictionary and write the meaning next to. Then write to
personal vocabulary notebook.
+ Talk with friends to complete the exercise. (If in pairs, group)
In the course of doing the exercises, note the new words, structures, and
grammar that appear in the exercises to expand the language knowledge.
* How to do difficult exercises.
Example 1: Phonetic Exercises
- Choose words with underlined words that are pronounced differently than the
rest. First, students must know how to pronounce at least three of the four given
words, paying attention to the pronunciation of the underlined part. They need
to know the method of exclusion: If the three words that they have underlined
are pronounced the same, the fourth word from the fourth word is underlined
with other pronunciations. If the three words you pronounce are two words, the
underlined words are pronounced the same and the other pronounced words will
be selected. In addition, they need to grasp rules of pronunciation with nouns,
verbs ending in s / es or ed.
Ex: Choose an underlined word that is pronounced differently than the other
words
1. A. house .

B. Hen

C. horse

D. hour

2. A. sit

B. in

C. fine

D. if

3. A. chemist

B. chair

C. child

D. cheap

4. A. books

B. hats

C. maps

D. eggs

5. A. cooked

B. arrived

C. stopped D. watched
9

Key: 1, D. hour 2. C. fine 3. A. chemist 4. D. eggs 5. B. arrived [1]
3.2: Fill the given fill in the box into each space to complete the paragraph.
First they need to read and understand the meaning and type of the words to be
filled in. Browse the paragraph to be completed to grasp the content of the
reading. Next is to determine the type of word to fill in the box and try to
understand or guess the contents of the sentence to be filled in. If any of the
boxes are empty or new words are missing, do not understand what they have
not guessed, then look for the words or synonyms that appear in the text to
select the words to fill.
Ex: Choose the appropriate word to fill in each of the spaces in the following
Paragraph: Geography each on from school lessons have subject begins tired
Today is the first day of the (1)...............term. I have just got my new timetable.
The first lesson is English. This lesson (2).............at nine o’clock and finishes at

Key: 1. school 3. geography 5. lessons 7. on 9. each 2. begins 4. from 6. have 8.
subject 10. tired [2]
3.3: Exercises that use the correct form of the verb in parenthesis
Ask students not only to grasp grammar well, but also to understand the use of
verb forms: Infinitive with to, Yes (Infinitive without to) and verb (ing). They
need to know how to recognize the sentence, especially how to recognize it, by
the situation given before or after the sentence and the type of verb in each case.
Ex: Fill in the correct form of the verb in parentheses
1. I (be)..............................thirteen years old next Monday.

10

2. Mr. Brown must (finish) .............................his searching before midnight.
3. A long time ago they (build).........................the school.

6. Do you enjoy (study) ........................English?
7. It often (take) …..me twenty minutes to go to school. How long it (take) …
you, Linh?
Key: 1. will be 3. built 5. will speak 7. takes/ does it take 2. finish 4. are they
speaking? 6. studying [2]
4: Use the correct form of a word to complete sentences
This is one of the hardest forms of exercise that requires students to know how
to change words. First of all, they need to determine what kind of words are
given: adjectives, nouns, verbs ....., next define the words to fill in the empty
box of what kind to change from exactly.
For example, if an empty cell is used in a sentence with the verb tobe and
is followed by an adjective or a noun used as adjective, the word to fill in the
box will be a noun. Or if the box is correct after a verb is active, then the word
to be filled can be an adverb of the way ... They need to grasp rules that use four
types, for example: Words such as: noun, pronoun, adverb, adverb, level, etc.
Ex 1: Please give the correct form of the word to complete each sentence
in the following sentence.
1. My sister is a stamp .............................. COLLECT
2. When I go to the library, I sit and read about ........... things. WONDER
3. I have ........................ time to play than my friend. LITTLE
4. English is a very .................. subject at school. IMPORTANCE
5. Nhan has a pen pal in France and they write to each other ............
REGULAR

Key: 1. collector 2. wonderful 3. less 4. important 5. regular [2]
5: Writing exercise form - complete the sentence
11

Ex 1: Please complete each sentence below.
1. Could / tell / how / get / police station / please?
2. How much / cost / mail / letter / USA?
3. In / future / we / less work / more money / spend.
4. brother / engineer / and / work / factory / suburb / capital.
5. Eat / and / talk / friends / be / most common ways/ relax / recess / many
countries.
Instruct the students to recreate the structure: - Request, suggestion: Can you
tell me wh-word + to + Vinf ....? - Question about price with the verb "cost":
How much + do / does + S + cost? - In the future ..... is the phrase of time in the
future, the sign of the single future. - How to use V_ing as the subject in the
sentence.
Key: 1. Could you tell me how to get to the police station please?
2. How much does it cost to mail a letter to the USA?
3. In future we have less work and more money to spend.
4. My brother is an engineer and he works in the factory in the suburb of the

8. I often walk from my house to my school in 15 minutes. It often...................
9. The cat is under the table. The table..............
10. The book costs ten thousand dong. It is................................
.Instruct students to use grammatical structures to rewrite sentences for meaning
without change: Request, suggestion with: Can you tell me wh-word + to + Vinf
....? - How to ask price: What is the price of + noun ...? - The use of noun
phrases.
- Choose the left word to rewrite the sentence: the left-hand example is "right".
Key: 1. Could you show me the way to the Red Hotel.
2. What is the price of those hats?
3. It is a one- hundred- thousand dong phone card.
4. Why don't we go to the cinema tonight?
5. It will take us at least 30 minutes to get to the airport.

13

+ Instruct students to recreate structures:
- It is important to define the content underlined to use the correct word.
- Note the underscores are not appearing in the question.
- Help students recreate question forms.
Example:
- Question about distance: How far is it from ..... to ......? It is (about) ....... How long does it take to do something: It + to + + + How many + noun lot +
are there ...? - Price Question: How much + do / does + S + cost?
Key: 1. Where is the grocery store?
2. How far is it from Hoa's house to the cinema?
3. How long does it take Mrs. Nga to travel to work by bus?
4. How do you go to Quang Ninh?
5. How often does Nam visit his grandparents?
6. What would you like to buy?
7. How many seats are there in the theater?
8. Why does Lan go to school late?
9. Who will your sister send her letter?
10. How much do these trousers cost?
6. Preparing for the new lesson
In addition to studying the old lesson, students must learn how to selfstudy, prepare new lessons at home. Here are some ways to prepare students for
self-preparation at home. In fact, teaching demonstrates that students will
achieve high academic achievement only when they have the motivation to

study properly and are interested in the subject. The learning motivation is only
when they feel interested in the subject and see their progress. During the
lesson, they feel they are in a position to be meaningful when they are involved
in answering questions, making statements and commenting on your answers.
How and what to do to receive a new lesson effectively?
6.1, Prepare for the next lesson:
14

After each teacher training session, instruct students to learn the lesson
and prepare for the next lesson. They read and look at new words, see
grammatical structures if they are in the unit of study. Prepare ahead of time for
group discussion prior to teacher guidance.
6.2 Preparation of problems to ask teachers
English is a difficult subject, requires students to invest time, effort,
passion for the subject. But when there is interest, passion for learning then
during the school children will encounter many obstacles. Students need to keep
track of what needs to be asked and the teacher explains the notebook so that
when the class is introduced, the teacher will explain the problem. First, they
need to identify problems that need to be understood by the teacher and need to
be bold, straightforward. Teachers need to encourage students "Do not know
how to ask, want to be good to learn." Always be ready to help children learn
and develop English, encouraging them to have many questions and creative
ideas.
* Some other forms of self-study to improve linguistic knowledge and
communication skills development The old self-study method, the preparation
of new ones, helps students to deepen the knowledge in the textbooks that they
take. Assembly on class. But the knowledge is already set, they actively receive
the knowledge from the teacher, from the textbook. It's not enough, but for a
fast-growing society now, English learners have to learn more about what they

are learning from textbooks to meet the growing needs of today's learners.
society. Teachers have to nurture them to have the passion, self-consciousness,
actively explore new things, and feel proud to be happy when they do these
things. Drawing on the experience of teaching and applying the subject, I
realize that we should direct students to the following self-study contents:
6.3 Self-study in Books
There are many types of books written about English stories, or quizzes
in English. They can refer and read them. However, when reading stories in
15

English, they will encounter many difficulties in vocabulary or grammatical
structure. They need to know the word guess or look up the dictionary and write
down the words. Then talk to friends about the content they receive through the
stories in English. What they know is told, they will remember longer. This is
the most effective way to learn and use English vocabulary and grammar
actively.
6.4 Self study and practice through advanced workbooks
In addition to the assignments that teachers assign to their homework in
the workbook, they can learn and improve their own knowledge by Do
exercises in complementary and enriched workbooks, or English language
books ... These are difficult exercises, only good students are interested in
doing. They do a pencil, record information and content they do not understand
to ask friends or teachers. Alternatively, you can find the answer at the end of
the document (if available) after completing the assignment. Teachers should
instruct them to use the answers at the end of the reference book in a correct
way for self-study to be effective.
7. Self-learning on the Internet With a modern society
The explosion of information technology today has many advantages for
children to study and play. On the Internet there are many English learning sites

or with powerful search engines like "Google," they can find whatever
information they want. For example, they are participating in the English
Olympic Games on the website "ioe.go.vn". They need to be provided with a
number of English language learning sites online to improve their language
acquisition

and

language

training,

such

as:

Englishteststore.vn

/

globaledu.com.vn/ tienganh123.com/ lopngoaingu .rice /…
8 Self-study
If you sit in one place and study English alone. It will be boring for a
long time. So changing the form of self-study is also very necessary. Students
not only learn by themselves but can also study with their peers - especially
16

good classmates. Talk to you about the new information they have received and
work together to solve problems while doing exercises in the advanced

workbook. To get more fun after completing the exercise, students should either
play quizzes in English or check each other's vocabulary with a word-by-word
game or test their level of comprehension and understanding of the structure.
Grammar of each other ...

This school year my first year student team consists of 4 children. At the
beginning of the school year, when I started to choose the team, I noticed that
the students who did not have any gifted children were as good as those in
previous years. Poor use, so the training process is quite hard and the results
have not been high. After the refresher course, I selected 4 official contestants.

III. CONCLUSION
1 Conclusion
The meaning of the experience initiative. Through the direct teaching of
the subject of English class 7, fostering students with good English 7 and the
process of researching the topic "Some effective training methods for students
to participate in good student English Class 7 ".
I realized that prior to wanting to foster self-study, I needed to give students
some insights into the subject. From that point, they will show the importance
and practical meaning of learning English. Show interest in the subject, love
and enthusiasm to explore new things. From the excitement of the subject they

strive for learning and striving. Being excited and interested in a subject does
not mean that we only speak and motivate them, but also through actual
activities and practices. My own experience shows that:
First of all, teachers must be friendly and close to them to learn about their
interests. From then on, they can capture their interest in English. Besides, we
also have to enthusiastically answer their questions, so that they have a strong
belief in the subject.
- Do not create obstacles for children with difficult exercises, or things too
unfamiliar to them. The requirements for children need to be fit, suitable for the
object. Teachers need to praise what they know to get them to work.
- When implementing the topic of "Some effective training methods for
students participating in fostering English language learners in 7th grade",
teachers need to persevere and invest time in order to bring about results. good.
Since many students will not follow the teacher's requirements, they need to be
close, reminded frequently, even to sit with them as they study. Those
difficulties are only in the beginning, when they are self-taught, they will have a
habit of daily life
- Fostering good students is an important task requiring teachers to have
enthusiasm, always seek creative learning, spend more time studying and
18

teaching. In addition, the positive emulation of student learning is the decisive
factor in the result of fostering.
- Teachers need to teach students methods of active learning, initiative,
creativity. Help them learn how to practice skills, learn grammar, solve quick
and effective exercises. Encourage them to actively participate in classroom
lessons, in refresher classes and self-study at home. Instruct the children to
organize activities in pairs, in effective groups.
- In order to help students receive and learn English in addition to

teaching in the teacher training class, they must provide the students with
necessary titles for the students to read in the library and other resources.
Generate skills using dictionaries, canon. Help them to use models, diagrams,
thinking maps to learn vocabulary by topic and show the tense in English ...
- Select a number of exams through the excellent student exams, instruct
