Fasten off, leave a tail long enough for sewing. Stuff body firmly. Sew
opening closed, weave in yarn. This will be the bottom. Flatten bottom so
doll can stand.
Gown:
NOTE: Tutorial is in Turquoise yarn – you will be using White yarn.
You will be crocheting the first Rnd on the body.
Rnd 1: With White Yarn, starting on top of body, insert hook in st and pull
yarn through to form a loop; secure loop with a sl st. Work 8 sc around by
inserting crochet hook into sc directly in body - sl st to first loop at end of
round (use stitch marker to mark beginning of round)

Body Base

Starting Loop

You will now crochet in Rnd 1
Rnd 2: Now make 2 sc in ea sc around = 16 sc
Rnd 3: *Sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc,* repeat

Rnd 6-14: Sc around (gown should reach bottom of body). Sl st to join.
Fasten off, weave in yarn.

NOTE: The Tutorial is done in turquoise so it will be easy to photograph and
the details will show.

Number of stitches may vary by one or two stitches depending on the yarn
you use – it is ok. This is to show you the technique of crocheting the gown
directly on the body.
For Boy:

For Sash, With Turquoise yarn, ch 26

Ears: (Make 4)
Ch 3
Row 1: Sc in sec ch from hook, 2 sc in last st.
Fasten off; leave a tail long enough for sewing.
For Wand:
1. Cut 6” piece of gold metallic pipe cleaner.
2. Fold in half and twist, flatten one end.
3. Take 2 large gold foam stars – place one star on a flat surface. Position
the flattened end of the pipe cleaner in center of star.
4. Apply glue – spread glue to all tips of the star (TIP: I use a toothpick to
spread the glue).
5. Place the second large gold foam star over the glued portion, matching
tips.

6. Press for just a few seconds until stars are sticking. Allow to dry
completely before proceeding. (TIP: I used a heavy weighted object over
the star to make sure both pieces adhere).
To Assemble:
1. Attach head to body – weave in yarn.
2. Sew ears on each side of head.
3. Position and sew pink cap on girls head and turquoise cap on boys head.
4. Attach small bow to side of head (turquoise for boy and pink for girl).
5. Attach arms, just below head.
6. For the boy, attach the sash just below the arms. Attach bow to sash. I
chose to have two strands of yarn hanging to complete the bow.
7. For the girl, secure wand to hand by sewing it in.
8. For the girl, glue the two small gold foam stars on side of cap.
9. Using black embroidery floss, sew smiley mouth.
10. Weave in excess yarn.
