INTRODUCTION
In recent decades, information technology and digital content have been
receiving a great deal of public attention, which lead more and more people
consume these kinds of products and services. Being aware of this trend, Viking
Technology Joint Stock Company determined the core value and built the
appropriate brand in terms of global demands.
The company was founded in 2015 by experienced members of technology.
The first criterion is set out to meet the quality and adequacy of solutions to
optimize the business process of organizations and businesses. Viking
Technology JSC looks forward to achieving great developments in their career,
as well as making a useful contribution to society. They aspire to talented
people, who have the same intention to build a unified organization, fulfill
ambitions and meet the trust of members. Loyal to the development perspective
based on the quality of products and services, the criteria to meet customer
requirements are put on top of the Viking projects and services provided. The
achievements of Viking today are thanks to the continuous efforts of the
management team and staffs.
Being recommended and allowed by English Department - Thuong Mai
University, I luckily have an opportunity to work at Viking Technology JSC as
an intern. After one month under devoted support and instruction of managers
and staffs in the company, I was able to learn a great deal of professional
knowledge and apply what I obtained from university into practice.
I would like to give my sincere thanks to teachers at English department as
well as my manager and staffs at Viking Technology JSC . I look forward to
receiving comments and suggestions so as to improve my report.

1.2. The process of foundation and development
Viking Technology was established on February 3rd, 2015 by experienced
members of technology. The first criterion is set out to meet the quality and
adequacy of solutions to optimize the business process of organizations and
businesses.

1.4. Company’s organizational structure

From the above chart, you can see that this structure is relatively simple
which only have board of management, 1 director, 1 vice director and 3
departments which are technological department, financial department and sales
department. As the company has established for 5 years, it is appropriate to
develop from a small scale and step by step extend the business. Although there
is not without disadvantages, the advantages will be far more significant. In fact,

the company structure is simplified which helps management effectively and cut
down the costs. Therefore the company can develop sustainably.
1.4.1

The specific duties and function of each department

System integration and Software solutions on demand are the main supplies
of Viking Technology to every customers. System integration provides
customers with many benefits on the basis of linking features between hardware,

software, network and utilities to satisfy customers' management needs.
Viking Technology JSC has experienced experts in system integration with
important certificates such as CCNP, CCIE, OCP, etc. The solution they provide
always harmonizes efficiency and cost, especially customers are proud of the
company’s service capacity.
With a team of experienced engineers who have worked for large
organizations such as IBM, Microsoft, DELL, FPT, ... The company is
completely confident to bring the best solution for developing applications
according to customer requirements. Some of the applications that they have
consulted and implemented for customers include:
- Online training system.
- Web portal.
- Document management and operational management system.
- Digital content management system
- Human Resource & Salary Management System.
- Customer relationship management system.
- Public administrative management system under the one door mechanism
- Hospital Management System.
- Business Process Management System Television.
1.4.2 Function of each department
● Board of management
Boards should make the high-level policy decisions and leave the lowlevel managing policy decisions to the management. This means boards make

big decisions like whether to close or open facilities, or make major purchases in
keeping with the organization's long-term strategic plans.
● Director
The Director who will work and manage the head of all departments in the
company and report to Board of management

● Financial Department
The business functions of a finance department typically include planning,
organizing, auditing, accounting for and controlling company's finances.
The department also usually produces the company's financial statements.
● Technological Department
Manage, implement and inspect technical work, ensure work progress,
saftey, quality and economic efficiency in Company. Management of using,
reparing, purchasing equipments, machines for business operations in Company.
● Sales Department
The main function of a sales department is to effect sales. It is concerned
with the transfer of ownership or merchandize on terms satisfactory to both the
buyer and seller. This has to be done at the lowest possible cost. The department
plays an important role in the company by contacting potential or existing
customers to introduce our products and services. In addition they also explain
and deal with customer's problems.

From the above figures, it is clear that revenues and profits of Viking
Technology increase with each year. In 2018, sales revenue reached over VND
22.9 billion and PBT was more than VND 3.9 billion. The equivalent figures for

2019 were over VND 24.5 billion and VND 4.5 billion respectively. We can see
that there was a noticeable increase in the sales revenue and PBT in 2019
compared with the previous year, with 7% for sales revenue and 14.6% for PBT.

This growth was mainly thanks to such reasons as followed: effort of all
employees, the right direction of the company, and the continuous improvement
of the quality of products and services, etc. This increase also indicates an
optimistic outlook on the operation of the company in the future.
Information about Sales Department of Viking Technology JSC
In any organization, Sales Department plays a pivotal role in the success of
the business and Viking Technology JSC is no exception. The department serves
as the face of the company as well as the bridge between Viking Technology and
its customers, suppliers and partners. This department takes responsible for:
● Researching on the market and customer behavior to find out the needs
of customers.
● Defining strategic marketing plans for Viking Technology’s products and
services, detailed planning, and implementing these plans.
● Producing advertising campaigns by gathering the information from
different sources.
● Coordinate with the other departments to implement detailed marketing
programs.
● Tracking the trends and monitoring competitors to make the most
effective marketing strategies.
● Creating and disseminating images, messages and ideas that best
communicate the brand values.
● Ensuring in increase of brand awareness both inside and outside the
company.
● Being responsible for some tasks related to import sector: transactions
with foreign suppliers and partners.

PART 2: INTRODUCTION ABOUT INTERNSHIP PROCESS IN
VIKING TECHNOLOGY JSC
2.1 . The work done inside the company
As an intern in Viking Technology JSC, I have been getting involved in a
number of activities of the Sales Department and gained several results such as:
● Learning about the company’s regulations and reading materials or
documents of the company
● Making the acquaintance of the others in the workrooms and working
environment and visiting the assignment and instructions of the guide
● Translating documents, mails, faxes which foreign partners, suppliers
sent to.
● Photocopying some reports and short contracts and writting or
replying partners’ letters and email.
● Classifying and arrange English bills, receipts, reports and contracts
● Understanding the company’s background, its missions, its work and
my responsibilities when taking the internship in the company
● Having more knowledge and realize different business documents
2.2.. The work done outside the official assignment of the company
In addition to the official assignment of the company, I spend my free time
learning more about real-world activities because I want to understand the
process of working and working for a company, which is really useful for me
later.
In addition, I am involved in cleaning the workplace to ensure cleanliness
in the company.
2.3 . Skills and knowledge gained in the internship processing
During the internship period at the company, I had accumulated many
meaningful lessons from my work and my colleagues had given me many useful
helps. I not only had many chances to improve my knowledge and experience in

the import-export sector but also had access to many modern equipment and a
professional environment. All the knowledge, skills and experience which I got
during working at the company are very useful for my job in the future. Because
of lacking experience, I faced many difficulties. However, I had overcome those
challenges and gained good results.
This experience had helped me to improve my professional writing skills. I
am becoming familiar with mails , taxes in English and how to deal with
customers. I also learned common English phrases in official documents which
are very useful for my future job. Besides, I practiced English translation to
translate materials and contracts of the company so that I can learn many
specialized words as well as phrases.
I also learned how to use office machines, such as printers, scanners,
photocopiers, etc. Moreover, I learned how to work on excel or Google Drive in
working, saving and reckoning statistics. I also know how to write a report,
comment card, contract, and bill.
Hopefully, they will be good keys for my next steps in the future.
Below are the details about my tasks and knowledge, skills and experience
after completing each task.
2.4. The difficulties and lessons of experience in the internship
processing
2.4.1. The difficulties in the internship processing
Due to the lack of practical knowledge, I encountered some difficulties in
the process of practicing: I did not know how to use office machines such as
printers, photos and fax machines. New start to get into life so initially difficult
to integrate with everyone in the company, shy, timid. Do not boldly suggest
ideas or dare to ask. Because the practice time is not much, we do not have

specific and deep knowledge about the work in the departments, meeting many
difficult terms about import and export.

2.4.2. The lessons of experience in the internship processing
During four weeks working as an intern in the company, I acquired many
useful experience as well as skills. These skills will accompany me and help me
in my future career. The experience and skills include:
Firstly, the internship time gives me a chance to put my English learned at
university into practice. Each day I take responsibility for seeking and
contacting with the suppliers by email, telephone, also join my hand in looking
into and check the sales contract which is written in English. Through these
activities, I see that the knowledge learned at university is just the theory, how to
use it effectively is decided by practicing in the real life. Secondly, I manage to
handle problems better. I become calm and cautious in dealing with these issues
properly. In addition, I become more and more confident when I show my ideas
and present to the crowd. Hence, my presentation is more persuasive and
attractive. Besides, I also improved others soft skills such as: communication,
solving-problem, languages,... Furthermore, facing with stressful working hours
and a heavy workload helped me improve my time management skill and
concentrate on getting the job done. Specially, I know how to balance my daily
life and reduce the pressure at work. Therefore, I am much more optimistic and
energetic.

PART 3: THE REALLITY OF THE USE OF ENGLISH IN EDUGLOBAL

VIETNAM JSC
3.1. The reality of using English in the business
Currently, English is an important tool in each business and also the key to
helping enterprises reach out to the global economy, exploit new markets, search
for investors so that the company has the opportunity to expand production scale
and increase profits. As a technology company, Viking Technology JSC
regularly exchanges with foreign partners, therefore the usage of English is very
popular. In particular, English is used the most in Technological and Sales
Department.
Technological Department: The staffs are trained carefully English about
engineering and programming sector. They often translate catalogues and
manuals of manufacturers into Vietnamese to understand the best about
products, software such as their functions, configuration and operation, as well
as provide Vietnamese manuals to customers.
Sales Department: As mentioned above, the department is in charge of
activities related to import sector, so English is the main language used for
transactions with foreign partners to purchase, search agents and provide
international transportation services. It is also used in contacting foreign
customers to make economic contracts, negotiate on prices, terms of contracts
and shipping methods, payment methods, delivery time and etc.
3.1.1 Advantages
● For the company: English is a great advantage to expand markets and get
more opportunities to cooperate with foreign partners. Besides, it is also a big
strength of any company to compete with others.
● For Technological Department: The staffs have strongly professional
knowledge by understanding English documents, which provides accurate
information of products to customers.

● For Sales Department: It is convenient in transactions with foreign
counterparts as well as updating quickly and understanding about G-Gate’s
products and services comprehensively.
3.1.2 Disadvantages
Besides its strengths, there still exist some limitations such as:
● The majority of the employees in the company use technical English
fluently in reading the specs. The figure of staff are able to fluently
communicate and write in English accounted for merely 50%, out of
approximately 70 employees. Therefore, the volume of work they have to
undertake is very large, which leads to overload of work and causes ineffective
results. As the number of employees speaking English is quite low , this often
leads to a loss of credibility with its partners due to its slow response to
customer enquiries.
● In recruitment, apart from Sales and Technological Department, the
company has not given specific requirements about English level, therefore, the
staffs’ English is not really good. Most staffs have only the ability to read and
understand English but are not really good in communicate so sometimes it
creates few barriers in transactions with foreigners These difficulties caused the
company reduce its image and reputation in the eyes of partners.
● Working time and workload are quite heavy, so it is difficult to improve
their English.
3.2 Recommendations for solutions
There are some following solutions to improve the use of English in Viking
Technology :
● Each employee should have self-study morale, improve English skills for
themself and realize the importance of English because it is not only significant
for themselves but also for business operations of the company.
● Besides the efforts of employees, the company should actively create
favorable conditions to supplement and enhance their English skills by offering

monthly courses. To master in communication, the leaders of the company
should create more opportunities to meet foreign partners. Hence they have
chances to gain more realistic experience and improve this skill significantly.
● In recruitment, the company should give the specific requirements of
English and evaluate the English level frequently to raise initiative in the using
of English.The company has the rewarding policy such as extra bonus for
individuals with good performance, increase the wages for employees who have
the good qualifications and English ability in the workplace. This policy will
create motivation and encourage employees to work and improve their
English. In addition, the company also makes conditions for employees
participating in sharing learning English experience workshop organized by the
units in the country and abroad. And support in all aspects of finance, work,
time,…and apply those policies to encourage honing foreign language such as
increasing salary and bonuses to all workers and employees.
● The company should continue to improve English in its website to give
its foreign partners and customers the most accurate and timely information
about the company.

PART 4 : RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CHOOSING A GRADUATION
THESIS TOPIC
Realizing the importance of English in the Viking Technology , I would
like to propose the topic of graduation thesis in the direction of "Problems of
language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing, presentation, translation
and compilation of commercial correspondence)".

Name of topic: Difficulties in improving speaking skill of the students of
English department at Thuongmai University.
According to British Baker released in 2010, English language has become
the global language which dominates in various fields throughout the world.
English is not the language that is used by the largest group of people, though it
plays influential role in many fields such as in business world, technology,
science, communication, and education. Hence, speaking is one of the most
important skills which plays a vital role in communication. Normally, most of
students find improving speaking skill very difficult . As they commonly learn
grammar to read and write in English correctly. Nevertheless, they rarely
practice speaking or apply grammar knowledge to speak. As a result, they are
not confident enough to speak with foreigners and communicate in English
fluently. This problem has been receiving more and more student's attention.
Hence, I would like to make a research to acquire why they are in trouble with
speaking skill and help them improve it.

CONCLUSION
Viking Technology JSC is still a young company. In spite of small scale
compared to other companies related to computer programming and technology,
the company has developed year by year and gradually asserted its position on
the domestic market. In addition, its business is increasingly expanded to bring
high efficiency and customers’ satisfaction.
To get such achievements today, besides the efforts of all staffs, it is the
strict and judicious management of the directors in making the strategic
decisions. This has created positive changes and built firm belief for employees
to devote constantly to the development of the company. Viking Technology JSC
has been moving in the right direction. It does not only focus on profit but also

the company’s reputation and the increasingly advanced life of the staffs.
By efforts and abundant and qualified human resources, Viking Technology
JSC promises to achieve the important goals and expand the scale to reach larger
markets. I hope that these suggestions will contribute to the development of the
company in the coming time.
One month of internship at Viking Technology JSC was really a valuable
time for me to have an objective view of the activities of a company, to learn
practical experience about the working style, how to behave and communicate.
Above all, this gives me an opportunity to acquire new skills for myself, have a
clear orientation for my future career. I would like to give my sincere thanks to
the Marketing Department and all staffs at the company for helping me complete
this report.
I am looking forward to receive feedbacks and contributions so this report
can be improved better.
