1. It is said that…

 Nếu động từ trong mệnh đề sau cùng thì so với say/think..:
Ex1: It is said that he is 110  years old
 He is said to be 110 years old.
Ex2: It is said that Tom works 16 hours a day. 
 Tom is said to work 16 hours a day   
 Nếu động từ trong mệnh đề sau trước thì so với say/think..:
Ex1: It  is thought that he stole $60.
 He is thought to have stolen $60.   
Ex2: It is said that two people were killed in the same way.
  Two people are said to have been killed in the same way.

It is said  that S+V 
          

Cùng thì: S + to be+ said to V ( inf )
 Trước thì: S + to be + said to have  V(ed/v3)


Exercise 1: Rewrite each of following sentences in such a way that it 
means almost the same as the sentences printed it before.

1.It is said that many people are homeless after the floods.
 Many people are said to be homeless after the floods.

2.It is thought that the prisoner escaped by climbing over 
the wall.
 The prisoner is thought to have escaped by climbing over the wall.


3.It is believed that he drove through the town at 90 km 
    an hour

 He is believed to have driven through the town at 90 km per hour.

4.It is reported that two people were seriously injured in the
accident.

 Two people are reported to have been seriously injured in the accident.

 
5. It is said that three men were arrested after the explosion.
Three men are said to have been arrested after the explosion.

 Nếu động từ trong mệnh đề sau cùng thì so với say/think..:
Ex1: People say that he is 110 years old
 He is said to be 110 years old.
Ex2: People say that that Tom works 16 hours a day.
 Tom is said to work 16 hours a day
 Nếu động từ trong mệnh đề sau trước thì so với say/think..:
Ex1: People think that that he stole $60.
 He is thought to have stolen $60.
Ex2: People say that two people were killed in the same way.
 Two people are said to have been killed in the same way.
Cùng thì: S + to be+ said to V ( inf )
