ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

First of all, I would like to express my grateful to all the teachers at Thuong
Mai University who helped and provided me with instructions to be able to
complete this internship report.


During my internship at Apax, I received a lot of advice from departments and
colleagues, especially from the department manager - Mr. Nguyen Cong Luan.
Although they were very busy with their work, my colleagues still support to help
me in the right direction and get the best internship experience during training.
This internship was really one of my most valuable experiences. This is the
first time I have the opportunity to work in a professional and dynamic environment
with great people.
This experience also made me understand the professional job very different
from the experience when we study at school. This is really one of the memorable
milestones in my career, I will try my best as well as take advantage of the
knowledge I have learned to improve myself further in the future.

OPENING
Nowadays, we are in the era of technology, with lots of improvements and
changes. The world is getting more modern, technology is growing, becoming an
integral part of our lives. Moreover smartphone devices are outstanding among
them with a huge role in modern life today

In recent years, we have shown the world that Vietnam is not only rich in
natural resources but also one of the extremely potential markets for technology
development. For that reason, Apax Leaders

was born with the purpose of

providing the new technological education for Vietnamese students in ages of 4 to
18 years-old, meeting the needs 1 more modern experience and also a better life
is one of the bridges that has been contributing to the development of the
economy. The company has been operating for nearly 10 years - established in
2011. Up to now, Apax Leaders has invested heavily in equipment Smart Tv and
modern facilities for student studying as well as possible. The company is currently
the first english center to have high technology classroom.
With 1 month of internship at the company, I had time to experience and learn,
cultivate more knowledge and skills to be able to adapt to the workplace environment,
here is a report on the the work that I have done at the company recently.

Because of the limited practice time, combined with the many shortcomings of
the skills, the report certainly has some mistakes. I hope to receive comments from
the teachers to complete this report. In the process of writing this report, I would
like to thank the staff in the Marketing Department for supporting me to be able to
complete this report.

In 2015, Apax English was established as a children's English brand from the
cooperation between Chungdahm Learning Group and Egame Online Educational
Game Joint Stock Company. With an educational philosophy based on language
development and creativity in children, Apax English helps students gradually build
independent thinking and the ability to use English fluently to become real leaders.

1.1.5 Function - Missions - Achievements
Function

Apax Leaders not only offers international standard English training programs
that help students become able to use them as a second language, but also helps the
younger generation equip soft skills and creative thinking. Each curriculum at Apax
Leaders has its own teaching method, designed for Asian students, suitable for each
age. The program not only helps children perceive and perfect 4 listening - speaking
- reading - writing skills, but also maximizes their creativity and practice to foster
their passion and future orientation.
Missions
With the development of Vietnam market, Apax Leaders has 2 main tasks:
The first task is to distribute users quality technology products in studying
english. This will help VietNam innovate teaching method english that make
Children learn english as a secord language.
The next important task is to create a good environment. Not only is the
working environment for employees but also a thoughtful customer care
environment, making customers increasingly trust Apax Leaders.
Achievements
After 3 years, Apax Leaders has 63 centers nationwide with tens of thousands
of students, becoming one of the leading English training systems. In addition to
teaching technology 4.0, Apax Leaders representative said that the secret of the
brand's success is human. No matter how modern technology is, people still play an
important role. More than 700 well-trained native teachers and thousands of

excellent employees, with the entrepreneurial spirit, are factors that have helped
Apax Leaders go so far and fast in recent years.
1.2. An overview of the department of internship – Office Department
Office department has a total of more than 7 members. The department has
been operating since the early days of establishing the company with Mr. Nguyen

Cong Luan as the head and Ms. Le Thuy Trinh as the deputy head.
Main activities of Office Department:

● Host Class Moniter (HOCM)
- Responsible for the board of directors of the company's members for the
marketing department's activities. Organize and inspect employees to complete the
company's monthly, quarterly and annual plans
- Encourage employees to actively participate in social and cultural activities.
Implementing well the policies of the Party, the State, the sense of organizing
discipline, rules and regulations of the company.
- Support writing letters of commerce as well as translators in meetings with
foreign partners and new product launch events.
● Class Monitor (CM)
- Monitor in the class including update children’s information if they are
attended or absent
- Folow and improve weak leaners on extra-class focusing student’s Gammar
- Prepare for documents on midterm tests and final exams.
- Report student’s progress for their parent.
● Teacher & Head Teacher
- In charge of translating correspondence as well as documents related to
product,
- Direct contact with foreign partners from South Afica, America, England ...
- Collect documents after completing the delivery consignment
- Welcome foreign teachers, parent and children coming and working at the
center.
- Monitor incthe classs including update children’s information and

PART 2: THE INTERNSHIP PROCESS AT Apax Leaders

2.1. Assignments
I was an intern at the company's Office department. This division covers
advertising and product introduction activities. On the job there are many english
language documents to handle to make student understand lesson accurately as well
as talk to parent student’s innovation during the course.
With the support of the members of the company as well as the managers, I
was assigned to translate documents including teacher’s background and teacher’s
comment for customers such as parent and children. In addition, I honestly play a
examiner role to pre-test new comer who want to look for a suitable English class.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Translate documents and information related to new products
- Supporting foreign teachers when coming to work at the company
- Communicate with children and check their homework through learing
technology systerm usually.
- Dicuss student’s progress and persude parent to renew fee on the next course
at the company.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Good listening, speaking, english gammar ability in english
- Communication and translation skills are priority.
- There is a high sense of responsibility, agility, care and thoughtfulness at work

2.1.1. Introduct and Intruct the product for children and their parent
Apax Leaders is the company whose main products are technology products.
Technology products which are highly applied and required

high accuracy in

studying and teaching. For example, for students,they need to create owned lesson
content by video clips with each of topics. Then their parent can see how their son’s
performance is by I-Learning program.
2.1.2. Bridge between student and foreign teachers
My internship relates to communicate work, so it's necessary to connect with
foreign partners. Foreign partners are an opportunity and a bridge to help the
company grow. Therefore, the company will need a translator team to support

foreign teachers when working in Vietnam
Currently the company is working with a lot of great partners from many other
branches in Apax education Systerm.

Along with the professional translator team, the company has made specific
reception plans for foreign partners. Partly to let the partners see the friendliness in
the company's about Learning English called E-learning and CTP means Creative
Thinking Project
In the department, I had the opportunity to train and learn from the company's
professional interpreters. Those lessons are really useful and I have also applied the
work in practice. In meetings with business partners. I also had the opportunity to
support translation for foreign partners. This helped me a lot not only in translating
but also improving my negotiation ability when the partners came to Vietnam
2.1.3. Translate feedback of foreign teachers to children’s parent
In every company, meetings play a very important role. Meetings are a place
for the company to review as well as find challenges, solutions, and new directions
in the future.
For that reason, it is extremely important to capture the main content of the
meeting. Therefore, our department always compiles the main content and records
the meeting minutes so that all employees in the department can grasp the contents
of the meeting, thereby working effectively. I also did not have much trouble
recording the meeting minutes because I was enthusiastically supported by my
colleagues.
2.2. Difficulties and experienced lessons
By completing the assignments and assignments, I have learned many skills
and professional lessons. Within a month of internship at the company, I tried my

best to learn new things to improve myself. However, besides the benefits, there are
still difficulties that I need to overcome so that I can learn lessons from the future.
2.2.1. Difficulties

 Still making many grammatical errors
In my daily work, I have to use English quite a lot, but I realize that my
grammar part is still quite weak. I often make grammatical mistakes, although this
is not too influential when communicating, but it will have consequences when
translating commercial correspondence as well as exchanging with partners.
Moreover, using the correct grammar is also important because it will directly affect
whether the partner understands the main content or not. This is one of the serious
problems that I need to fix right away
● Not much practical experience on the product technological learning
English
Despite translating as well as viewing a lot of documents about the product.
However, in the past 1 month, the practical experience with actual product is not
much. Most of the time I spend with information about the products. But I have not
known to install it on computer PC with Android sortware the actual product, this is
an extremely regrettable thing. I hope next time I can experience it more directly.
● It takes more time to understand more about the company's culture
The part that I practice is the Marketing department, this is one of the very
enthusiastic and dynamic departments. However, because I have only been working
for 1 month, I still need time to learn about working habits and working culture at
the company.

● Not getting along with everyone
As a intern with very little experience. I find it difficult to adapt to a new
working environment. Information, data as well as contact and working with
foreign partners are frequent. This put me under pressure for the first 2 weeks of my
internship at the company
However, during the internship I have been helped and advised a lot, so I think
in the future I will get used to this working environment.
2.2.2.

Experienced lessons

For any intern, acquiring and adapting to a new environment, a new working
style will be difficult. During previous month, despite many obstacles during my
internship, I overcame and learned my lessons after graduating and going to work.
One of the lessons when I practice and work at Apax Leaders is that I always
have to prepare before translating. I need to find the product documentation and
information carefully before writing about it. This is also one of my most valuable
lessons. I always have to carefully check the information and comments about the
product to avoid errors in the translation process. This is one of the lessons for me
not only during my internship but also in my work and life later
One of the other lessons that I feel very fortunate to have experienced is never
being able to decide anything on my own. In any case, we're in a team together. So
when I have any new ideas or ideas, I will share them with everyone for discussion.
If the idea is good, then we will do it. If something is wrong, we will fix it.
Absolutely never should decide anything because it will affect the team.

I trained and tried my best to adapt to the harsh and stressful working
environment. This has made me more mature, more thoughtful, more careful in my
exercise. Although the early days made me tired, I focused and did my best to
complete the assigned task.
Next, after a month of practice, I also felt that my English skills were not
good. As a student of the English Department of the University of Commerce, I
have been exposed to a lot of English but I need to improve to be more confident in
an English speaking environment.
Moreover, my communication skills are much better than before. Because the
job involves contacting, communicating with foreign partners, these two skills must
be really good. At first, I was not used to the job, so I made some mistakes.
However, I have been greatly helped by my siblings, pointing out the mistakes that
my next efforts should avoid.
Last but not least, it is the spirit of learning. I have experienced many
situations, which are difficult to meet in the 4 years of college. Therefore, I have
learned many lessons and can solve problems if I meet again

PART 3: THE USAGE OF ENGLISH IN APAX LEADERS

3.1. Current situation of the use of English in Apax Leaders
Today English has become a global language. Among hundreds of different
languages, the world has chosen English as a language for people to understand

each other. International events, held worldwide, use English. English is widely
spoken and is the preferred language of communication. This shows the importance
of English in daily life and work
In addition, English is an important key for every business. English represents
the bridge between businesses, thanks to English, businesses will find a common
voice. English is also the key to providing opportunities for business expansion,
cooperation with foreign partners and investors. This will improve the efficiency as
well as gain great profits
As a company specializing in the field of import and export, as well as modern
technology products, English is a necessary part for the company to contact and
exchange with foreign customers and business partners. This can be understood
through documents, business correspondence, or meetings with foreign partners.
English plays an indispensable role in the process of working at the company
However, the usage of English at the company is not wide. Except for the
Marketing department that uses English regularly to communicate, communicate
and transact with foreign partners, most employees in the company do not use
English fluently and often. Partly because other departments do not regularly

contact foreign partners and customers, in their daily work, they interact with and
exchange with Vietnamese customers, so the use of English is not frequent.
In the Office department, English is frequently used. Almost all staff can use
English. Staff also have background knowledge and professional knowledge, so
directly using English to work is regular
3.2. Solution proposal



About the company

- Recruit employees in a more selective manner and continually evaluate the
quality of work even if they are selected to be permanent employees. Open skills
training as well as case handling for staff. Courses need to be conducted and
tailored for staff to acquire basic skills
- The company also needs to organize group training sessions, team building
so that the staff can help and learn from each other. Since then the employees will
become more united and the work efficiency will be improved. In addition,
employees who are proficient in English should be given priority and regularly
guide other colleagues
● About the employees
- Self-train, cultivate more knowledge as well as the ability to use English.
Increase the use of English in many work environments, not just at company. This is
a necessary practice, a prerequisite for growing the company in an integrated
economy today
- Attend courses and programs organized by the company to find out the
limitations and advantages of yourself so that you can continue to revive and

promote. Strengthening foreign language, increasing the association with other
members of the company, towards common goals, further developing the company
- Actively ask when you need help. One of the biggest problems for
employees today is that they don't dare to ask when facing difficulties. This is a
wrong thinking, if employees feel that the task assigned is too , they should ask for
help from colleagues. From there the work will become easier. Moreover, this also
helps employees have closer ties

Topic 1: Common errors in English speaking lessons of first/second year
English major students at Thuong Mai University
In this topic, we will learn about the habits, ways of using words of students in
English-speaking lessons of new students to school. Because they are all new
students, they may lack the experience and skills in using English in communication
and classroom exercises. With my experience, I can help to improve their skills
Topic 2: Students’ attitudes towards doing English presentations at Thuong
Mai University
Presentation skills are now one of the most important skills. Good
presentations will enable us to confidently speak in public, as well as help us gain
more opportunities in the future. However, students currently have a negative
attitude towards the presentations. I want to make this clear and help students be
more active in presentations

Topic 3: Difficulties in English speaking skill- From the perspective of
students at Thuong Mai University
Currently English has become a very common language, so using English to
communicate is also essential. However, most students are still quite timid when
communicating in English. I want to learn about the difficulties students have in
order to help them communicate in English better.

CONCLUSION

After nearly 5 years of operation and development, Apax Leaders has
achieved goals in the eduacation english as well as a top one corporation about
pratice and creativity in english for children.
Within a month of internship, this training course gave me the opportunity to
apply the knowledge gained at the university to reality. This helped me understand
how the real job and university are different. I also had the opportunity to learn
more about the style, working attitude and working environment in the company.
These are extremely valuable experiences and I think I will only be able to get them
when working and practical experience. These experiences also give me a new
direction, helping me to partially guide my future career. I feel extremely lucky to
be an intern at this company
Through what I have experienced at the company, I have made this report to
find out the current issues of using English at the company, I hope that it will
contribute to the development. of the company in the near future

Once again, I would like to thank HOCM Mr. Nguyen Cong Luan and all the
colleagues at the company for supporting me to finalize this report.
