Some dogs are trained to help people who can't hear. For example, some dogs are trained to alert their owners,
who cannot hear, that a phone is ringing. The dogs become good friends to the people they help.
Dogs also cheer up older people who may be lonely. People often feel happy when they can pet a dog.
Dogs work hard every day. They make life easier for many people.
