Unit 9. AT HOME AND AWAY.
Lesson 1. A1.

I.Objectives: By the end of this period, Ss will be able to talk about
vacation activities and know how to use the simple past tense.

1. Knowledge.

 Vocabulary: return, wonderful, an aquarium, a gift, was/ were, have/ 
had, …

 Grammar: Simple past tense, Wh - question
2. Skill: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

3. Attitude: It helps Ss to have motivation, happiness to communicate with 
each other in English. Besides, the lesson can help Ss work harder and get
moral sense.

II. PREPARATION.

1. Teacher: lesson plan, textbook and stereo.

2. Students: textbook, notebook and workbooks.

III. METHOD: Chatting, Matching, Word cue drill, Ordering.

about the Robinsons’ vacation and know how to use the simple past tense.

* Vocabulary: shark, dolphin, turtle, type, exit, cap, poster, crap, instead, 
wear.

* Grammar: Simple past tense.

2. Skill: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

3. Attitude: It helps Ss to have motivation, happiness to communicate with 
each other in English. Besides, the lesson can help Ss work harder and get
moral sense.

II. PREPARATION.

The Robinsons had a great holiday in Nha
Trang. Unfortunately, the holiday soon
ended and it was time to return home.
They took a bus back to Hanoi. Liz was

first time. Everything looked calm and
peaceful. At 4 o’clock, the bus stopped at
