 use the words and phrases related to the topic Introduction.
 greet others and introduce themselves, using <i>Hello/ Hi. I’m + </i>

2. Topic – Language target:


 Vocabulary: <i>hi, hello, I’m. Nice to meet you.</i>
 Sentence patterns: <i>Hello/ Hi. I’m Mai</i>.


3. Teaching methods: communicative approach and other methods.
4. Teaching aids:


 Teacher: Teacher’s book, class book, puppets, CD and CD player.
 Students: Student’s book, Workbook, notebook and other school


things.

repeat
(9 minutes)


To give
students a

practise
introducing
themselves

responding to

introduction.


- Have students open their book
and look at part 1: Look, listen
and repeat on page 6.


- Ask students some questions:


<i>+ Who is he/she?</i>
<i>+ Who are they?</i>


<i>+ Where are they? Are they at </i>


<i>school or park?</i>


<i>+ Can you guess what they are </i>
<i>doing?</i>


- Stick characters of each picture
on the board.


- Explain what happens in each
picture.


- Write the dialogs of each
picture on the board.


- Play the CD 1st<sub> for students to </sub>


listen and point.


- Play the CD 2nd<sub> for students to </sub>


listen and repeat.


- Have the whole class say aloud
one more time.


- Devide the class into 2 teams:
team Moon and team Sun.
- Picture a, have team Moon be


Mai and team Sun be Nam.


Then, change the roles.

- Explain new model sentence: <i>to</i>
<i>greet others and introduce </i>
<i>yourself, you say: Hello/ Hi. </i>
<i>I’m + name or Hello/ Hi. I am </i>
<i>+ name.</i>


- Write the new model sentence
on the board and explain the
full form and short form.


- Ask the whole class say the new
model sentence aloud.


- Ask each team say the new
model sentence aloud.


- Call some students to say the
new model sentence aloud.


- Correct the pronounciation and

 Play the game: “The train”


- Teacher greets and introduces
herself to the class.


- Then, teacher throws the ball to
1 student and he/she has to


respond to the greeting by using
the new model sentence.


- After that, the student throws
the ball to the next student and
so on.


- Correct the pronunciation if
necessary.
