Usage: Conditional sentence type 3 is used to express regret about what happened or did not happen in the past or the unreal things in the past.. - T writes the usage and form of the conditional sentence type 3 on the board and has Ss write down.. Form: IF CLAUSE S+ had(not)+V3_ed. Lop11.com. - T asks Ss to work in pairs to do exercise 2 in the textbook. - T models a sentence. - Ss work in pairs and do exercise 2. - When Ss finish this task, T asks pairs to read out their answers, one reads original sentence and the other reads rewritten sentence and then write the sentence on the board. Suggested answers: 1. If the driver in front had not stopped so suddenly, the accidents would not have happened. 2. If I had known that Lam get up early, I would have woken him up. 3. If Hoa had not lent me the money, I would not have been able to buy the money. 4. If Mary hadn’t been wearing a seat belt, she would have been injured. 5. If you had had your breakfast, you would not be hungry now. 6. If I had had some money on me, I would have got a taxi. - T divides the class into 2 groups : Group A and group B. - T explains the game’s rule: + 2 groups together make whole sentences by using conditional sentence type 3 to express your regret about which you did and did not do last week. + Group A makes “If” clause then group B makes main clause and vice versa. + In 5 seconds, if group can not reply the other to make whole sentence will lose. + And 5 scores for the other. - Ss listen. - T checks understanding of instruction. - Ss play the game.
