Sample letter to your family
Dear Mom,
I arrived in Nha Trang at 4 yesterday morning. Thanh met me at the train station, and then he took
me home by his motorbike.
Nha Trang is a quiet and beautiful city. It has a long coastline with beautiful white sandy beaches. I
went to the beach very early this morning and enjoyed the sunrise far out in the sea. Yesterday morning,
Thanh and Hoai took me to the Tri Nguyen Aquarium. Its very interesting to see many different kinds
of fish and sea creatures. Ive also visited many interesting places like Cham Temple, Aquarium, Pasteur
Institute. Ive taken part in some fascinating outdoor activities : mud bathing, snorkeling and scuba diving.
Tomorrow, we are going to spend the evening visiting a fishing village, where we can get a taste of the local
seafood.
I feel so happy and enjoy myself so much. The people here are so nice and friendly, the food is
excellent and the sights are very beautiful. Ill leave Nha Trang at 4 pm on Saturday and will arrive
home at 5 am on Sunday. Please pick me up at the train station.

Wearing casual clothes
In my opinion (My opinion is that) its not necessary for high school students to wear school
uniforms. They should wear casual clothes.
Firstly, wearing casual clothes makes students feel comfortable.
Secondly, wearing casual clothes gives students freedom of choice. They have rights to choose sizes,
colors and fashions of clothes that they love.
Thirdly, students may feel more self-confident when they are in their favorite clothes.

Finally, wearing casual clothes makes school more colorful and lively.
In conclusion, students, particularly high school students should wear casual clothes when they are at
school, because its more convenient and comfortable.

A passage entilted A Country Picnic
It was a beautiful day, my friends and I decided to go on a picnic. We took a bus to the countryside
and then walked about 20 minutes to the picnic site next to the river. We put down the blankets and laid
out the food. After meal we played the games What song is it ? and blind mans buff. Late in the
afternoon we went fishing. We enjoyed our picnic. When we looked at the time, it was nearly 6.30 pm. We
hurriedly gathered our things and ran to the bus stop. We were lucky to catch the last bus and we arrived
home very late in the evening.

Dear Mr. President,
Im writing to you about the catching of fish in the lake behind my house.
Im really worried because people use electricity instead of fishing rod or net to catch fish. After a short
time they left the lake, a lot of small fish died and floated on the water surface. Other animals such as frogs,
toads, and even birds also died from electric shock waves.
I would suggest that the local authorities should prohibit and fine heavily anyone using this way of
catching fish.

A speech for your classmates
Good morning, my classmates. My name is Tran Minh Tuan and today Im going to tell you how to
reduce garbage.
We produce a large amount of garbage every day. We can reduce this amount by :
Collecting plastic bags and try to reuse them.
Putting different kinds of waste in different places in order to recycle or reuse them, for instance,
food waste for pigs, wastepaper for wrapping, old clothes for cleaning, etc.

If we follow these simple rules, well reduce the amount of garbage we produce every day.

dad)
Dear Minh,
This morning I just learned a lesson about Fathers day. It was really interesting. In Vietnam,
however, people do not celebrate Mothers Day or Fathers Day. In my opinion, its necessary/
important/ essential to have a day to celebrate for Mom and another day for Dad.
There are lots of reasons for celebrating these days, but the main reasons are the children will have a
special day to express their feelings, their memories and their love to their parents. In addition, well have
an opportunity to enhance family traditions as well as a chance to get all members of families together in
order to bring them closer.
I think Sunday is the most suitable day for celebrating because its a day off so everybody is free from
work or study.

Its not necessary to have parties, but its a good idea to have lunch or dinner with all family members.
In this special day, children should serve their parents (with) the food they like best and offer them
flowers, cakes or special gifts and cards.
What do you think about my idea, Minh ? I believe it will be supported and the day for our parents
will be celebrated nationwide someday.

A story from the pictures
It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and the sky was blue. Lan was outside playing with her
dog, Skippy. All of a sudden the dog began behaving strangely. She kept running around in circles and
didnt seem to be herself. Lan immediately ran home with the dog to tell her mother what Skippy was
doing. Lans mother, Mrs. Quyen, told Lan that she heard on TV that there was a typhoon coming. Then
she gathered all family members and told them to find shelters in the house.
Suddenly, the sky became very dark, the storm came with strong winds and heavy rain. Everybody
were scared, but fortunately, the storm finished soon and they all felt very glad. What a clever dog Skippy
is ! She saved Lans family from being caught in the typhoon.

An exposition about the existence of UFOs
I believe UFOs exist because articles and reports in newspapers talked a lot about their appearance.
First(ly), many people from different countries reported that they once saw flying saucers. Second(ly),
there are many photos of flying saucers and some photographers said they saw man-like creatures get out of
them. Moreover, people are discussing the mysterious circles on the fields in the countryside of Great
Britain.
