Soccer has always played a major role in my life. When I was a kid, I used to play for the school team and
never missed a single game at the local soccer club. I was crazy about soccer, like all my friends, and my father,

who was also a great fan, wanted me to become a professional player.

Unfortunately, things didn't work out as we expected. Oh, I turned professional all right. It's just that I
hadn't been playing professionally for more than eighteen months when my family and I were involved in a car
accident. Nobody was seriously hurt but the doctors told me I wouldn't be able to play soccer again. My injured
left foot was going to be OK, but it would be too weak for this kind of sport.

When I recovered, I realized that soccer was too important for me to give it up altogether. So I decided to
become a coach. I attended a ten-month course and soon afterward I was asked to train the local team. I enjoyed
those years very much because I felt I was a part of a team again. Later I moved on as a coach in league soccer
teams and, well, as you know, I've been training the national team for two years now. I love my job because I
love soccer and it also gives me the excitement of making decisions and planning the whole game. I'm definitely
not looking forward to my retirement.

Read the following passage and choose the best answer for each of the following questions.

Elizabeth Blackwell was born in England in 1821 and emigrated to New York City when she was 10. One day,
she decided that she wanted to become a doctor. That was nearly impossible for a woman in the middle of the

Soccer has always played a major role in my life. When I was a kid, I used to play for the school team and
never missed a single game at the local soccer club. I was crazy about soccer, like all my friends, and my father,

Read the following passage and choose the best answer for each of the following questions.

One day,

Read the following passage and choose the best answer for each of the following questions.

It's just that I hadn't
been playing professionally for more than eighteen months when my family and I were involved in a car
