- Recognize environmental protection is not anyone’s responsibility; we can perform our
responsibility to the environment by practical activities.

STAGE 3: TEACHING PROCEDURE/ LEARNING EXPERIENCES
Activity 1: Warm-up:
- Ask ss to take a look at the picture and describe what they can see.
- Get feedback and confirm.
Lead in: Environmental pollution is everywhere. In this unit, we are going to learn about
what is environmental pollution, how does it have impact on our planet and how to reduce it.
Activity 2: Provide vocabulary for Ss
- Show vocabulary and its pronunciation (practical; preservation; impact; fossil fuel;
negative; depletion)
- Ask Ss to take note new words on their notebook
- Ask Ss to pronounce the vocabulary. (all of student; group; person)
- Get feedback and correct if necessary
Activity 3: Read the conversation between Nam and his father and answer some
questions (Activity 3, page 38)
- Step 1: Ask students to read the conversation and answer the questions.
- Step 2: Ask some students to give their answer.
- Step 3: Get feedback and confirm the correct answer.

Activity 6: Wrap up
- Show a video related to environment problems and asks Ss to recall some
environmental impact in the video.
- Ask Ss some following question:

+ Do you think humans are the main factor causing environmental problems?

+ Do you think people are neglectful to environmental problems? (Yes/No)
- Emphasizes the real value of the lesson: “Environmental impacts are consequences of

Activity 7: Homework:
Write a paragraph (about 100 words) to talk about environmental problems in your
local area including reality; causes; effects and solutions.
