I. INFINITIVES WITHOUT TO (ĐỘNG TỪ NGUYÊN MẪU
KHÔNG “TO”)
Chúng ta sử dụng động từ ngun mẫu khơng có “to”:
1. Sau can, could, may, might, must, needn’t, shall,
should, will, and would
e.g: - We could go to an English speaking club.
- Susan will be away from home for a few days.
2. Sau “had better” và “would rather”
e.g: - It's raining. You'd better wear a raincoat.
- I’d rather stay at home and watch TV in winter.
3. Sau “make (made)/ let (let)/ hear (heard)/ see (saw)/ watch
(watched)/ feel (felt) + O”

e.g: - He received a gift from his girlfriend. He was very happy.

e.g:

2. Danh động từ thường đứng sau các động từ sau:

- The boss let him write a letter to his wife.

 He was very happy to receive a gift from his girlfriend.
3. Khi câu bắt đầu bằng HERE/ THERE hoặc có động từ HAVE
e.g:

- My mother has some shopping to do.

III. GERUND (DANH ĐỘNG TỪ)
1. Danh động từ là động từ thêm đuôi “-ing” và có chức
năng như danh từ.

- We saw him break the window.
- I heard them talk in the next room.

- like/ love/ enjoy/ hate/
dislike

- look forward to: mong đợi
- mind: phiền, ngại

II. TO INFINITIVE (ĐỘNG TỪ NGUYÊN MẪU CÓ TO (TO + V))

- keep: tiếp tục

1. Đi sau các động từ:

- mention: đề cập

- deny: phủ nhận
- admit: thừa nhận
spend:
(money/time)

- suggest: gợi ý

- decide: quyết định

- expect: mong đợi

- hope: hi vọng

- offer: đề nghị

3. V-ing đứng sau GIỚI TỪ (on, in, at, of, for, about,…)

- agree: đồng ý

- refuse: từ chối

- plan: dự định

- would like: muốn

- mean: có nghĩa là

- warn +sb + not to V

IV. QKĐ, QKTD, QKHT

 Quá khứ đơn: Ved/ cột 2/ didn’t V0

 Quá khứ tiếp diễn: Was/ were (not) V_ing

1. V nguyên dạng không TO và V nguyên dạng có TO

e.g: I was using my phone when the teacher came.

 Quá khứ hoàn thành: Had (not) + Ved/ cột 3
•

By the time + qkđ, qkht/ qkht by the time qkđ

e.g: By the time we arrived, he had already gone away.

•

Before + qkđ, Qkht/ qkht before qkđ

e.g: Before I went to bed last night, I had finished all my
homework.

•

When + qkđ, …… already => qkht

e.g: When I came, the students had already come home.

2. Tính từ + To V

After qkht, qkđ/ qkđ after qkht

e.g: I went to bed after I had finished all my homework.

See/ watch/ feel/ hear + V (nhìn/ nghe/ cảm nhận
thấy ai đó/ cái gì đó làm gì)

He received a letter from his ex-girlfriend. He was very happy.
 He was very happy to receive a letter from his ex-girlfriend

3.1. Before / After và QKHT

Dấu hiệu: By the time, when, Before/ After
When the police arrived, the car had gone.
 Before the police arrived, the car had gone.
 After the car had gone, the police arrived.

Khi chủ ngữ của 2 vế là giống nhau
Julia had read that book several times. She didn’t want to read
it again.
