1. Restrictive clauses:


- qualify a noun, a pronoun and tell us
exactly which person or thing is being
referred to


- we mustn’t use commas
- it can’t be omitted

2. Non -restrictive clauses: :


- It is used to add more information to a
definite noun (usually proper names)


- we have to use commas
