I. Objectives:
1. Educational aim: Sts understand people’s daily activities
2. Knowledge:
a. General knowledge: By the end of the lesson, Sts will be able to know a day in the life
of Mr Vy and Mrs Tuyet through answering the questions and completing the table
b. New words and phrases: lead the buffalo to the field, plough, harrow, repair the
banks…
c. Skills: Reading for general and specific information

IV. Procedure:

I. Warm up (5’) Miming
- call a representative to stand in front of the class
and show him/her names of some jobs (teacher/
doctor/ farmer)
- ask him/her to describe the job without saying any
words. The others look at their friend and guess
the names of the jobs
I. Before you read (10’)
- Ask Ss some questions:
Does a farmer have to get up early?
Where does he work?
What does he usually do in his day?
 Lead in: To understand more about a day in the life

of a farmer, we start Unit 1: reading

Today we are going to read a passage about a day
in the life of Mr Vy and Mrs Tuyet and do some Tasks
