ask Ss to sing a song ' the Alphabet'
How many letters are there?
-How many letters are there in the VNamese
alphabets?
-What about the English alphabets and how to
spell them? Now we will study.
<b>III. NEW LESSON:</b>
<b>Step 1: Presentation (12’)</b>
-Hang the English alphabets on the board.
-Which letters doesn’t Vnamese alphabet have?
- Mark the 4 letters that don’t exist in the
Vnamese alphabet(W,F,Z,J)
and the differences of two English letters(e,i) in
pronouncing.

Rub out and remember dialogue:
T writes the dialogue on the board. Reads
and get ss to repeat, then T steps by step rubs
the words in the dialogue until none word
left
Get ss to read the missing dialogue in chorus
then in pairs
Elicit from the students to give the model
sentences.

<b>Step 2: Practice</b> (15’)
<i><b>Word cue Drill </b></i>
- Run through all word cues
- T. models => sts repeat
Example:
S1: What is your name?
S2: My name is Khuong
S1: How do you spell your name?
S2: K-H- U- O-N- G, Khuong.
T helps Ss practise speaking : T-WC; half-half;
pairs.
-Asks Ss practise in pairs,ask and answer the
real name. Then T gets feedback.
<b>Step 3 : Production (10’)</b>
<i><b> Lucky numbers</b></i>
- Write the numbers on the board.
- Divide class into teams. The teams take turn to
choose the numbers.
- Tell students that they have to answer
questions about personal information.
<i><b>Noughts and crosses</b></i>
- Divide the class into 2 teams
- One team is Noughts(0) and the other is
crosses(x)
- One team starts choosing a number and make
a question and an answer with the given words.
If the question and the answer are correct, T
puts a mark (O or X ) in that square.
- The first team to get 3 in a row (across, down
or diagonally) wins the game.
