<b>What’s in the FCE listening paper?</b>
<b>The FCE listening paper has four parts. In each part, you </b>
<b>have to listen to a recorded rext or texts and answer some </b>
<b>questios. You hear each recording twice.</b>

<b>Time allowed: 40 minutes</b>
<b>Number of parts: 4</b>
<b>Number of questions: 30</b>
<b>Mark: 20% of total</b>
<b>WHAT ARE DOS AND DON’TS?</b>
<b>DOS:</b>
<b>- Listen to and read the instructions throughout the test. </b>
<b>Make sure you understand what you are listening for </b>
<b>and what you have to do.</b>
<b>- Use the preparatiopn time before each recording is </b>
<b>played to read through the questions and think about </b>
<b>the context.</b>
<b>- Use the information on the page to help you follow the </b>
<b>text.</b>
<b>- Look carefully at what is printed before and after the </b>
<b>- Check that your idea of what the correct answer is when</b>
<b>you first hear the recording is confirmed when you hear </b>
<b>it for the second time.</b>
<b>DON’TS:</b>
<b>- Don’t rephrase what you hear.</b>
<b>- Don’t complicate your answer.</b>
<b>- Don’t spend too much on a question.</b>
