I. OBJECTIVES:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to have knowledge about some careers.

II. PREPARATIONS: Textbook, pictures, cassette player, tape.

III. PROCEDURES:

2. Presentation: (10’)

Task 1: Pre-teach vocabulary :
- Elicit to teach vocabulary.

+ journalist (n) : phóng viên ( Explanation )

Task 2: Revision Simple present:

- Ask Ss to revise Simple present :

Eg : He is 20. He is a journalist. He works in Ha Noi.

- Listen to the words.

- Repeat the words in chorus & in
individual.

- Give the meanings & the
pronunciation.

- Copy the words.

- Revise Simple present .

3. Practice: (20’)

Task 1: Comprehension questions

- Show pictures (p. 34) & ask Ss some questions.
1. Who are they in the picture ?

2. What do they do ?

- Introduce : This is Lan’s family.
- Ask Ss to read the text silently.
- Ask Ss to answer questions ( p.35 ).
- Call on some Ss.

- Give keys & check Ss’ answers.

Task 2: Matching

- Answer some questions from the
teacher.

- Read the text silently.

- Work in groups.

- Give answers before the class.

- deliver Ss 3 similar forms :

Lead ss to listen personal information about 3 people and complete
these forms for the three people on this tape.

Tape transcript : Tom is a teacher. He is 26 years old and teaches
