Aim: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to tell the activities people used to do in the past . II. Language contents: 1. Grammar : Past simple tense 2. Vocabulary: look after (v) equipment(n) folktale(n) traditional (a) great grandma III. Techniques: Slap the board , T/ F statement prediction, groupwork IV. Teaching aids : Pictures, tape , sub- board V. Procedures: Teacher and Ss ‘ activities Teacher asks students some questions. Ss answer.. T asks Ss to look at the picture on page 38 and write the name of things that do not belong to the past. Work in groups T presents new words to Ss by different ways: Using synonym Giving example Translating into Vietnamese Explaining. Contents 1. Warm up: Marks - Do you watch TV? - Do you telephone your friend? - Did people watch TV 50 years ago? * Answers for Getting started: The TV , the radio , the mobile phone , the lighting fixture , modern clothing / school uniforms. 2.Presentation * New words - To look after (v) = to take care of - Equipment (n) ( machine , cassette, video ) - Folktale(n) : Taám caùm, Sevenmile shoes, One- hundred- section bamboo.
