IV Procedure Teacher’s activities Content 1 Warm up -Say hello to the class and introduce my self, using Hello, I’m Hong.Then guide sts to answer Hello, Mrs Hong. -Ask sts do that afew time. T walks around the class to say hello again to some Sts and ask them to answer. 2 Presentation - Have Sts turn their book to page 6 then 1.Look, Listen and repeat ask Sts to look at the picture, tell the name of the characters and guess what they are saying. -T Introduces: You are going to hear Mai eg : and Nam greet each other. Mai: Hello. I’m Mai. -T uses two character puppets to present Nam: Hi, Mai. I’m Nam the situation. Explain the meaning of the language practiced. -Ask Sts to listen once. - Play the recording again for Sts to repeat the line in the speech bubbles. _Ask Sts to work in pairs. -Call on some pairs to perform at the front of the class the rest of the class observer and give the comments..

II language focus - Vocab : - Structure: Hello, Mai. I’m Nga. III Resources - Student Book Tieng Anh 3 -Audio and visual aids: Recordings, hand made puppets, picture IV. Procedure Teacher’s activities Content 1 Warm up -Ask Sts to greet and self –introduce 2 Pre- speaking 3 Talk - Have Sts look at the pictures on page 7 and ask then to identify the characters in the picture. Content. 1 Warm up -Ask Sts to recite the chant on page 7, lesson 1 A Listen and repeat 1.Listen and repeat 2 Presentation - Have Sts turn their book to page 8 then ask Sts to look at the words hello, hi and notice the letters coloured differently in both words. . - T tells Sts they are going to learn how to produce the sound of the letter h in the word hello and that of the letter i in the word hi _T produce the sounds h and i a few times. Ask Sts to say what they think about when they hear these sounds. Hello Hi 3 Practice Hello.I’m Mai -T places the large piece of paper with the Hi, Mai. chant written on it on the board. Then play I’m Man.

Clap the syllables. -Call on a group of six to the front of the class. Ask three of them to repeat each line of the chant, and the other three clap the syllables .Repeat the step but have the Sts swap their roles. -Ask Sts to practice saying the chant in groups and clapping the syllables. Monitor the activity and offer help .Correct the pronunciation error - Call on a group to recite the chant .the rest of the class clap the syllables 4 Production -Make a few Qs to check Sts’ comprehension. -Have Sts to circle all the words containing the focus sounds hello and hi in the chant..
