LÝ THUYẾT. -Là câu thuật lại một cách gián tiếp lời của người khác nói. -Muốn làm câu tường thuật chúng ta cần phải đổi một số vấn đề sau I. Một số thay đổi thì ( tense changes) - will / shall  would / should / be going to - am/is/ are going to  was/ were going to - hiện tại đơn  quá khứ đơn -hiện tại tiếp diễn ( is/are/ am + V-ing )  quá khứ tiếp diễn ( was/ were + V-ing) - quá khứ tiếp diễn hiện tại hoàn thành tiếp diễn ( has been + V-ing) - hiện tại hoàn thành  hiện tại hoàn thành / quá khứ hoàn thành ( had + V-ed/c3) - quá khứ đơn  quá khứ đơn / quá khứ hoàn thành - Must  must / had to / would have to - must not  was not to / were not to - Can  could / be able to - may  might + Ngoài ra cần lưu ý : Said to = told / asked - Today  that day - Tonight  that night - Tomorrow  the next day / the following day - yesterday  the day before / the previous day - ago  before - Now  then - next / on Tuesday  the next / following Tuesday. - last Tuesday  the previous Tuesday / The Tuesday before - the day after tommow  in two day’s time / two days later - This  that - these  those - here  there . Một số thay đổi ngôi : - Me  her , him ( theo chủ từ ) - You  he ,she , they, I , we ( theo túc từ ) - My  her, his ( theo chủ từ ) - We  they ( theo chủ từ ) - I  she , he ( theo chủ từ ) - us  them ( chủ từ ) - Your  her , his ,my , their ( theo túc từ ) – he, she, they  khơng đổi II Một số dạng câu tường thuật : 1. Caâu hoûi Yes – No : @ Với Động từ TOBE : S + said to + O + “ Is/ Are + S + ……………………..?”  S + asked + O + If/ Whether + S + was/ were + ……………………. Ex : She said to Nam “ Is your house near the market ?”  She asked Nam if his house near the market . @ Với động từ thường : S + said to + O + “ Do / Does + S + V (inf) ………………?”  S + asked + O + if + S + V (ed/ C2 ) + ……………….. Ex : They asked him “ Do you live here ?”  They asked him if he lived there . + Tuỳ theo thì trong ngoặc mà chúng ta đổi theo thì đó.

Câu mệnh lệnh và câu yêu cầu: 1/ Reported commands ( câu tường thuật mệnh lệnh ) a) Câu tường thuật loại câu mệnh lệnh khẳng định : S + told + O + to-inf Ex : “ Please wait for me here, Mary” Tom said  Tom told Mary to wait for him. Ex : He said to me “ buy me some milk “  He told me to buy him some milk . b) Câu tường thuật loại câu mệnh lệnh phủ định S + told + O + not + to inf Ex: The teacher said to the children “ Don’t talk in class”  The teacher told the children not to talk in class. Ex : “ Don’t Sit down, Lan” he told  He told Lan not to sit down . 2/ REPORTED REQUEST ( Câu tường thuật yêu cầu) - Để tường thuật lại một lời yêu cầu lịch sự, ta có thể dùng cấu trúc tương tự như lời tường thuaät caâu Meänh leänh. “Can/ Could you + ……………, please?”  S asked O + to + V-inf ………………..
