SHEET METAL CLIP Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 2.0
Dr. Herli Surjanhata
Create a sheet metal part called CLIP. Make sure you select Sheetmetal as Sub-
type.




You need to create a Flat Wall base feature with thickness of 0.011.



Click the
icon, or

From Insert pull-down menu, select

Sheetmetal Wall -> Unattached -> Flat

Pick the FRONT datum plane as sketching plane, and
TOP datum plane as top reference orientation.


Sketch the following section,

Click the
icon, and enter the
thickness of the wall 0.011.

Select the OK button.

Create a Bend feature using the Bend, Roll, w/Transition, Part Bend Tbl, and
Inside Rad options.


Click the Create Bend icon
or,

Insert -> Bend Operation -> Bend



Roll -> w/Transition -> Done
Part Bend Tbl -> Done/Return
Inside Rad -> Done/Return

Pick the front surface of the sheet metal as sketching plane.

Okay -> Default


Pick the top edge of sheet metal as additional reference.






First, sketch the bend line as shown in
the Figure.






Click this icon

to continue.


Create the feature to Both sides of the bend line.

Sketch this straight
vertical line as the bend
line.

Pick Both



Choose Okay when prompted for area to
remain fixed.





Pick two vertical edges of the narrow
section of the part as additional
references.



Close.

Sketch the transition area as shown

Figure. Make sure the sketch the line
closest to the bend area first.


Click this icon

to continue.


Answer [N] when prompted if you
want to define another transition area.


Select Enter Value







The radius will be 0.16.

Click OK.



Create an Unbend feature.




Pick the
icon, or

Insert -> Bend Operation -> Unbend

FIRST

Done.




Select the left edge of the clip to remain
fixed (see Figure), Choose Unbend All
from the UNBEND SEL menu and then
Done -> OK.






Click

Change the option from Rectangle to
User Defined.

Change the 90° angle to Flat.






Click
.

Pick the bottom front edge as shown below:
