LỜI NÓI ĐẦU
Niên giám thống kê là ấn phẩm hàng năm được Cục Thống kê tỉnh
Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu biên soạn và phát hành, bao gồm những số liệu cơ
bản phản ánh thực trạng kinh tế - xã hội trên địa bàn tỉnh.
Cuốn sách được xuất bản lần này bao gồm số liệu 5 năm, số liệu từ
năm 2019 trở về trước là số liệu chính thức, số liệu năm 2020 là số liệu
sơ bộ. Các số liệu đã được thu thập và tính tốn theo quy định hiện hành
của ngành Thống kê Việt Nam. Một số chỉ tiêu được thu thập từ số liệu
thống kê của các sở/ngành trên địa bàn tỉnh. Cuốn sách cũng được bổ
sung nhiều chỉ tiêu mới từ kết quả các cuộc điều tra Thống kê năm 2020.

Số liệu Tổng sản phẩm trên địa bàn tỉnh (GRDP) và một số chỉ tiêu liên
quan là số phân bổ của Tổng cục Thống kê.
Các ký hiệu nghiệp vụ cần lưu ý:
(-): Khơng có hiện tượng phát sinh;
(…): Có phát sinh nhưng khơng thu thập được.
Trong q trình biên soạn khơng tránh khỏi những thiếu sót, Cục
Thống kê tỉnh rất mong nhận được sự đóng góp của quý ban, ngành và
những người sử dụng thông tin Thống kê, để lần xuất bản sau được hoàn
thiện hơn.

FOREWORD
Statisticcal Yearbook is an annual publication which is compiled
and published annually by Ba Ria - Vung Tau Statistics Office. Its
contents includes basic data reflecting the real socio-economic
situation in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
In this Statistical Yearbook, the data has been complied for 5
years. The data from 2019 backward was official, data of 2020 was
estimated. The data has collected and culculated in accordance with
current methods, stipulated by Vietnamese General Statistics Office.
Some indicators were collected from statistics of departments/sectors
in the province. Some new indicators in this yearbook added from the
result of statistical surveys in 2020. The data of gross regional
domestic product (GRDP) and some related indicators was allocated
by the General Statistics Office.
Special symbols used in the book are:

(…): Facts occurred but no information.
It is impossible to avoid mistakes during process of complilation,
Ba Ria - Vung Tau Statistics Office is looking forward to
reveiving the contributive opinions of all branches and statistical
information users to improve and complete the Statistical yearbook in

OVERVIEW OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC SITUATION
IN 2020
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused the world economic picture in 2020
to be covered with many dark colors. Thanks to the prevention of the
pandemic with drastic and creative measures, Vietnam has maintained a
positive grew by 2.91% and was expected to be an ideal destination for
investors. Ba Ria - Vung Tau was also not outside the negative impact from
the pandemic. 2020 was again the last year of implementing the 5-year socioeconomic development plan 2016-2020 with many tasks in the sprint period,
associated with the organization of Party congresses at all levels. In that
context, the Provincial People's Committee issued action programs and
directed all levels and sectors to synchronously deploy many tasks and

solutions; implementing the dual goals of economic development,
implementing policies to ensure social security and effectively organizing the
prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic. Gross domestic product (GRDP) has a
low growth rate; service industries were severely affected; industry growth
was lower than the previous year, state budget revenue decreased deeply.
1. Gross regional domestic product
Growth and contribution: GRDP in the province (including
petroleum) in 2019 decreased by 4.91%1 over the same period last year. In
the overall growth of the economy, the agriculture, forestry and fishery
sector increased by 3.19%, contributing 0.12 percentage points to the overall
growth; industry and construction decreased by 6.28%,contribution reduced
by 4.84 percentage points; the service sector decreased by 3.56%,
contribution reduced by 0.48 percentage points; product taxes jumped up
5,02%, contributing 0.29 percentage points.

GRDP (excluding crude oil and liquefied gas) in 2020 increased by 3.51% over the same
period last year.

Economic structure and GRDP per capita: Regarding GRDP
structure, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector accounted for 6.82%;
industry - construction sector represented 69.3%; service sector contributed
15.9%; product taxes backed 7.98%. GRDP per capita in 2020 in the
province was more than 269 million VND per person, equivalent to 11,375
USD per person.
2. Industrial production
Index of industrial production in the province in 2020 was 4.04%2

over the same period last year; of which, manufacturing increased by
9.32%; electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply grew by 6.51%;
water supply; sewerage, waste managementand remediation activities rose
by 6.12%. The industry in the area increased mainly due to the good growth
of the processing and manufacturing industry.
3. Agricultural, forestry and fishery production
Irrigation system met the irrigation requirements for production in the
dry season; especially, the Song Ray irrigation work operated well. Ordinary
epidemics were promptly controlled, did not affected much the development
of plants and animals. Food safety was regularly controlled, contributing to
stabilizing market prices and mitigating harms to production caused by
substandard good quality.
In 2020, the weather conditions in the southern coastal area were
relatively favorable for fishing activity; there were only few storms and
tropical depressions directly affecting the East Sea and the Southwest.
Vessels and boats had regularly clung to the sea, increased marine catching
output and raised production efficiency; marine fishers were hitted the
season of tuna, mackerel, and other small pelagic fishes, contributing to the
increase of the aquatic capture production. The gill net, fin net fishery and
fishing developed and mainly focused on capturing valuable fish species
such as mackerel, tuna and small pelagic fishes, which contributed to the
growth of production value of seafood industry in 2020.

8,59% over the same period last year.

4. Service activities

The campaign "Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese
goods" has been implemented synchronously in 2020 and achieved positive
results. Units, departments and branches in the province organize many
activities to connect and promote trade such as: building a distribution
network of products and goods in districts, towns and cities; organize fixed
Vietnamese selling points; participate in fairs, seminars, trade connections
inside and outside the province. Enterprises and manufacturers have made
great efforts in applying science and technology to produce and supply
quality products at reasonable prices; implement more and more effectively
the connection and construction of the retail network, bringing Vietnamese
goods to the countryside.
The outbreak of Covid-19 has slowed down the country's tourism, in

LAND
Total land area of an administration unit is the aggregate area of all
types of land within the boundary line of each administration unit which is
determined in accordance with the provisions of law.
Agriculture production land is the land used in agricultural production,
including annual crop land and perennial crop land.
Forestry land is the land under forests (including natural forests and
planted forests) that meet the forest standards prescribed by the legislation on
forest protection and development, and newly planted forestor plantation forest
in combination with natural farming.
Specially used land includes land for offices of the State agencies, land
for construction of for-profit facilities; land for security and national defense
purposes; land for non-agricultural production and business, and land used for
public purposes.
Residential land is the land used for construction of houses and facilities
for living activities; garden and pond attached to house in the same residential
land plot (including garden and pond attached to detached house) which is
recognized as residential land. It includes residential land in rural areas,
residential land in urban areas.
Unused land includes all categories of land of which the purposes of use
have not been yet determined, including unused plain land; unused hilly land;
rocky mountains without forests.
CLIMATE

Average air temperature in months is the average of average air
