10 Bamboo sticks

A small ball


1. Player tosses the ball in the
air.
Throw the ball

Pick up the sticks

Catch the ball

2. While the ball is up the air,
the player quickly picks up the

stick and catches the ball.
3. Continue playing until the
end.


Mandarin Square Capturing

* Traditional Vietnamese children’s board game.
* Enhancing calculating ability.


* 10 squares: Rice field squares.
* 2 semicircle: Mandarin squares.
* 1 big stone in each mandarin squares.
* 5 small stones in each rice field squares.


1. Rock paper scissors to choose the first.
2. The first person moves 5 small stones in any square.
3. When we move to the last stone, we still move stones
in the next square.
4. Until the last stone stops and the distance between it
and the next square is one blank cell.
5. We caught the stones in that square and we own them.
6. Continue playing until a player caught the stones in the big
squares and the stones of second player. The game ends.
7. Count the number of stones. Who has more stones is the
winner.
