Lesson 1: GETTING STARTED + LISTEN & READ
I. OBJECTIVES:
Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to talk about the places in their
neighborhood, understand how to use the Present perfect tense with “Since & for”

- Device class into two groups.
- Group works.
- Show the pictures. Then ask Ss to match the names of

- Ask Ss look at the screen and guess the meaning of new

- Explain the structure: Present Perfect tense.

* For + a period of time ( khoảng thời gian)
* Since + a point of time (mốc thời gian)
* Form: S + HAVE / HAS + V P.P + since/ for
* Usage: To describe an action that began in the past and still
is progress at present time.
3. Practice: (15’)
- Ask Ss to practice the dialogue in pairs.
- Have Ss do the exercise 2 on the page 64. Complete the
sentences.
- Call some Ss to give feedback.

- Show the picture and ask:

2. Pre – Speaking: (10’)
- Have students look at the picture and answer the
questions.

 She wants to send something to somewhere?
- Explain vocabulary:

- Ask Ss to practice the dialogue in pairs.
- Ask Ss to read carefully the brochure and the
information in the box, make similar dialogues in pairs.
- Have Ss only choose one of the items from the surface
mail or airmail to make dialogues.

4. Post – Speaking: (17’)
- Introduce: Na has moved to a new neighborhood. She is
talking to Nam about the activities she will do on the
weekend.

- Answer the questions.

- Look at the picture and answer.

- Read the brochure.
- Choose and make dialogue.

- Listen.

- Practice the dialogue.

- Listen to teacher.

- Ask Ss listen to the tape between Na and Nam and fill in
the blanks with the suitable place or program.
- Read the answer.
- Call some Ss to read the answer.
