TASK 2: Work in groups
In Vietnam, children can go to a nursery when
they are three years old because their
parents have to work.
They go to the primary school at the age of 6
and the primary education lasts 5 years. Later
they go to lower secondary school when they
are 11. They attend lower secondary in 4
years. At the age of 15, they go to upper
secondary school and it lasts 3 years. After
they finish secondary education, they take the
National examination for GCSE

TASK 3: Work in groups
• There are some differences between the school
system in Vietnam and England.
Children in Vietnam start primary school at the age of 6
and finish this level at 10 while children in England
study at primary school from the age of 5 to 10.
In Vietnam children finish compulsory education when
they are 14/ at the age of 14. In England compulsory
education ends when they are 16.

• However, Vietnam and England have some
similarities.
Students in both countries have to follow the national
curriculum set by the government. After finishing
secondary school, they have to take the national
examination for GCSE.
