VINASHIP JOINT STOCK COMPANY

PREFACE
Despite the fact that the country and the world have been hit by a devastating
COVID-19 outbreak, Vietnam's economy remains on course for growth and
stability. Meanwhile, the global economy and the economies of the region are
rapidly developing and attempting to accelerate their growth. To keep up with
global development and raise people's living conditions, our country must focus on
improving overseas commerce and foreign investment. However, in order to create
significant foreign trade or foreign investment, the transportation industry must first
respond quickly to the needs of the economy.Furthermore, our country's location in
a fast developing economic zone with a reasonably well-developed transportation
system has a considerable impact on the Vietnamese transportation industry. Our
country also benefits from strong natural conditions and has a much larger port,
Saigon - Hai Phong - Da Nang. That is the shipping industry's development
potential, and the government is attempting to capitalize on it by speeding up the
expansion of the shipping network in order to stay up with other nations, therefore
container shipping is extremely essential in Vietnam. Vietnam is an unavoidable
prerequisite because of the global market's homogeneity.VINASHIP is a shipping
company with a container port and warehouse network. By introducing me to it and

learning more about it, VINASHIP assisted me in gaining background knowledge in
this subject. Furthermore, this internship assisted me in gaining practical knowledge
and important information from those with experience in research and development
in this subject.

1.7. Business results
The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic continues to push the maritime industry
into a difficult position. Production and business activities in many countries around
the world, especially China, have been halted, which has dragged down global trade
demand. Seaports were forced to close due to social distancing requirements. Total
container fleet capacity globally fell 18% in May 2020, according to data from
Drewry.
However, in "danger" there is "opportunity". The major economies recovered
quickly from the pandemic while the supply of ships was in short supply, which
pushed freight rates up sharply again. Sea freight rates have been continuously
increasing since the end of 2020.
Vinaship Shipping Joint Stock Company (UpCOM: VNA) has announced its
financial statements for the first quarter of 2022 with high revenue and profit over
the same period.

Specifically, net revenue in the period reached VND 232 billion, up 57.8% over the
same period. Cost of goods sold increased less than revenue, so gross profit reached
more than 65 billion dong, 10 times higher than Q1 last year.
Despite the loss of profit from other activities, selling and administrative expenses,
both increased, but thanks to the large gross profit, Vinaship still has a profit after
tax of more than 40 billion VND – a sharp increase compared to 3.2 billion VND.
same period last year. EPS in the first quarter of 2022 reached VND 2,009.
According to the explanation from the company, the international sea freight rate
has remained at a high level since the end of the first quarter of 2021, creating a
favorable premise for VNA's business activities in the first quarter of 2022.
Although the market adjusted down in January, affecting the revenue of the fleet in
February, Vinaship promptly compensated with the impressive revenue increase in
March. Therefore, shipping revenue in Q1 2022 remains at a high level and
outperforms the same period; at the same time, to compensate for the sudden
increase in fuel costs due to the impact of the war situation in Ukraine.
Currently, VNA has not announced business targets for 2022. Before that, VNA also
had a very successful year in 2021, net revenue reached 853.3 billion dong, up
66.2% over the same period, EAT reached 177, 8 billion VND, a sudden increase
compared to only 1.4 billion VND last year. This is the year Vinaship recorded the
highest profit ever.

industry in Vietnam will show many good signals of development by 2022, but
there will still be challenges and potential hazards. As a result, traffic congestion,
container shortages, a lack of space, and the "escalating" price of sea transport, as
well as the explosive expansion of air transport, will be progressively resolved, and
the means will be improved. When the COVID-19 epidemic is finally under control
in 2022, the mode of transportation will revert to its original value.
Logistics is a key service industry in the overall structure of the national economy,
supporting, connecting, and fostering socio-economic growth throughout the
country as well as in each area, and thereby adding to the economy's
competitiveness. Vietnam is regarded as a promising and appealing market for the
growth of the logistics services industry.

Through the last internship, I myself am a student who has been trained in
International Business and Logistics for three years and through the last internship,
I myself have realized many things.
To have a practical visit at Chua Ve port, Hai Minh warehouse and especially to
have experienced staff from VINASHIP pass on their experiences and exchange

useful things for their future dream job. helped me to be less confused and more
stable on the way to the logistics industry. Specifically, in addition to the basic
knowledge in books, complicated things like processes to basic things like
requirements and functions of each position in the company helped me to make
study plans. More specifically, helping me realize that to work and stay in the
logistics industry requires more than just book knowledge. I feel that I need to have
more soft skills such as communicating naturally like the way VINASHIP staff
came and conveyed useful information to me. In addition, you need to master the
safety knowledge when entering and leaving warehouses and ports. Along with that
is mastering the processes, how the apparatus works to be able to stand firmly in
this transportation industry.
To do that, in addition to having a specific study plan, I feel that I need to equip
myself with soft skills such as presentation, communication and especially foreign
language ability. In addition, I look forward to experiencing more in the field of
warehouses and ports and also look forward to the opportunity to practice at a

transport company so that I can interact with reality as honestly as possible.
