I now understand why some people make war when they say they love peace,
It's because sometimes we have to make war so we can Live in Peace.
Lately, I have not been at peace with myself because I'm at war with others.
Then I realize peace is not the absence of conflict, it is the ability to handle conflict by peaceful
means.
I've never claimed to have the answers to life, I've never claimed divinity, I've never claimed purity
of soul. I only put out my heart and handle every situations as honestly as I can.
But to some, they simply just dont want to understand that peace has to be created, in order to be
maintained & It will never be achieved by Passivity and Quietism.
If we desire to avoid insult, we must be able to repel it; if we desire to secure peace, it must be
known, that we are at all times ready for War/Conflict.
Yes, it hurts, And yet, there is no peace without forgiveness.
I find peace by not escaping my problems, but by confronting them.
I find peace not in denial, but in victory.
Every goal I make, every action I take, every thought i think, every feeling I experiences, whether
it'd be consciously or unconsciously known, is an attempt to increase my level of Peace of Mind
which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing I did my best to become the best I am capable
of becoming.

To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one's family, to bring peace to all, one must first
discipline and control one's own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to
Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him."

I now represents a sweeter music, a harmonious song, a cosmic melody, that is far superior to the
discords of war.

tâm hồn và biến tinh thần trở về lại cát bụi.
Dù ở tuổi 60 hay 16, trong con tim mỗi người đều có sự quyến rũ của sự kỳ diệu, sự đam mê háo
hức như con trẻ với cái điều sắp xảy đến, và niềm vui của trò chơi cuộc sống. Trong sâu thẳm của
tâm hồn bạn cũng như của tôi, thì đều có một trạm vô tuyến; bao lâu mà cái trạm đó còn tiếp nhận
tín hiệu của cái đẹp, niềm hy vọng, sự nô nức, lòng can đảm và năng lượng của con người và của
Vô biên, thì lúc đó bạn còn trẻ mãi.
Khi mà giây ăng ten cụp xuống, và tinh thần của bạn bị bao phủ bởi lớp tuyết hòai nghi yếm thế, thì
dù bạn mới có 20 tuổi, bạn đã già nua cằn cỗi rồi; nhưng nếu giây ăng ten đó vẫn mở bật lên để

Bài 3: What is happiness?
"It depends. It depends on you, on your state of consciousness or unconsciousness, whether you
are asleep or awake. Happiness will depend on where you are in your consciousness. If you are
asleep, then pleasure is happiness. Pleasure means sensation, trying to achieve something through
the body which is not possible to achieve through the body, forcing the body to achieve something it
is not capable of.
People are trying, in every possible way, to achieve happiness through the body. The body can give
you only momentary pleasures, and each pleasure is balanced by pain in the same amount, in the
same degree. Each pleasure is followed by its opposite because body exists in the world of duality,
just as the day is followed by night and death is followed by life and life is followed by death. It is a
vicious circle. Your pleasure will be followed by pain, your pain will be followed by pleasure. But you
will never be at ease. When you will be in a state of pleasure you will be afraid that you are going to
lose it, and that fear will poison it. And when you will be lost in pain, of course, you will be in

suffering, and you will try every possible effort to get out of it - just to fall again back into it.
The sleepy person knows nothing else. He knows only a few sensations of the body - food, sex. This
is his world. And whatsoever you call pleasure is, at the most, just a relief of a tense state. Sexual
energy gathers, accumulates; you become tense and heavy and you want to release it.
The man who is asleep, his sexuality is nothing but a relief, like a good sneeze. A tension was there,
now it is no more there; but it will accumulate again. To the sleeping, pleasurable sensations are
happiness. He lives from one pleasure to another pleasure. He is just rushing from one sensation to
another sensation. He lives for small thrills. His life is very superficial; it has no depth, it has no
quality. He lives in the world of quantity. The non-meditator sleeps, dreams; the meditator starts
moving away from his sleep towards awakening.
Then happiness has a totally different meaning: it becomes more of a quality, less of a quantity; it is
more psychological, less physiological. He enjoys music more, he enjoys poetry more, he enjoys
creating something. He enjoys nature, its beauty. He enjoys silence. He enjoys what he had never
enjoyed before, and this is far more lasting. Even if the music stops, something goes on lingering in
you. And it is not a relief.
The difference between pleasure and this happiness is: it is not a relief, it is an enrichment. You
become more full, you become a little overflowing. Listening to good music, something is triggered
in your being, a harmony arises in you - you become musical. Or dancing, suddenly you forget your
body; your body becomes weightless. The grip of gravitation over you is lost. Suddenly you are in a
different space: the ego is not so solid, the dancer melts and merges into the dance. This is far
higher, far deeper than the joy that you gain from food or sex. This has a depth.
But this is also not the ultimate. The ultimate happens only when you are fully awake, when you are
a buddha, when all sleep is gone and all dreaming is gone, when your whole being is full of light,
when there is no darkness within you. All darkness has disappeared and with that darkness, the ego
is gone. All tensions have disappeared, all anguish, all anxiety. You are in a state of total
contentment. You live in the present; no past, no future anymore. You are utterly herenow.
This moment is all. Now is the only time and here is the only space. And then suddenly the whole
sky drops into you. This is bliss. This is REAL happiness.
Seek bliss; it is your birthright. Don't remain lost in the jungle of pleasures; rise a little higher. Reach
to happiness and then to bliss.

Pleasure is animal, happiness is human, bliss is divine. Pleasure binds you, it is a bondage, it chains
you. Happiness gives you a little more rope, a little bit of freedom, but only a little bit. Bliss is
absolute freedom. You start moving upwards; it gives you wings. You are no more part of the gross
earth; you become part of the sky. You become light, you become joy.
Pleasure is dependent on others. Happiness is not so dependent on others, but still it is
separate from you. Bliss is not dependent, is not separate either; it is your very being, it is your very
nature. To attain it is to attain to God, to nirvana.”

their life. In recent years, charity is well-known in many countries, and there are a great number of
ways to help the poor. Some people want to help directly those in the local community who need it.
On the contrary, others would like to give money to national and international charitable organization.
Both ways are good, but I would like to support a former idea.
Providing help and support directly to the people in poverty brings a sense of warm. Some people
often come to the mirror areas to give food to the hungry, shelter to the homeless… Moreover, others
give the disabled people means of transportation, as wheelchair, crutches… They said that they
were very happy when they saw a happy smile on the unhappy people. Only if do they meet them,
they have this warm feeling.
In contrast, giving money to national and international charitable organizations is a good choice.
These people think that these organizations are able to distribute their money to the people that are
victims of natural disasters conventionally. In fact, those are always busy in their business, so they
cannot come to the unfortunate people directly. In addition, may be they can’t stand the harsh
climate places where they want to give money. As a result, this is a best way to share with others
without affecting their life.
In my opinion, I strongly would like to share with the unhappy people directly. An example of charity
in my local community- Lam Dong province is typical. My friends and I are always spend money to
go to the remote areas where the poor migrants. We offer foods, clothes to them. Whenever we

have opportunities to talk with them, we can know more what problems they face up with. Not only
do we share them material values, but also mental values. Certainly, we feel very happy when they
have our help overcame their difficult time.
To put in a nutshell, it is a wonderful experience that we can do a useful thing to people who are in
need. Therefore, spending both our time and our health to the unlucky people, we bring the
joyfulness not to them but to ourselves as well.

Bill Gates as an example. He might not be esteemed if he were the richest man in the world but he
donated billions dollar for his "Bill and Melinda Gates" foundation.
To sum up, there are numerous ways of methods to involve in charity works. These activities are
meaningful not only for the sake of the recipients but also for us to understand ourselves.

Although humans’ society has been rapidly advanced in recent days, there are still some destitute

people. Fortunately, some people are willing to help them by giving money or necessities to them in
either direct or indirect ways. However, some pros and cons emerge in both ways.
In the first place, directly assisting the poor is suitable for those who accidentally go past and have a
little money in their pockets which is remained after shopping or hanging out. In addition, these
benevolent people can make sure that their money is bestowed into the needy people’s hands.
However, this pattern is unable to detect who are true impoverished people and who are fake ones.
Some people are lazy, so they pretend to be very poor to make use of gullible people. Unwittingly,
the generous people abet the execrable behavior.
In terms of indirect support, one of the advantages is that the magnanimous people know that they
help the right people, because before charitable organizations instigate a campaign, they usually
investigate very fastidiously. Also, this way is convenient for those who have a lot of money and want
an organization to help them transfer it to the needy. Another benefit of this pattern is that the
benefactors are capable of helping those who are living outside their countries. Ironically, some
organizations are seemingly trustworthy but turn out to cheat the kind people and take their money
instead of giving it to the poor.
In conclusion, both ways have some advantages and disadvantages. As for me, I strongly prefer the
first one – directly aiding the destitute people. As a student, I do not have much money, just a little
which I can give directly to them if I see them by chance

Third, cell phones are able to cause some serious health problems such as insomnia or even
cancer. If you put cell phone next to you when you are sleeping, you will be startled by its sudden
ring tone or vibration. Many times like that will make it hard for you to fall asleep again, sleepless
status also puts you under strain. Besides, according to some recent surveys, if you contact with
mobile phone too much you will be more likely to suffer from brain cancer.
Finally, they have a negative effect on children’s writing skill. The reason is that when they send

easy for them to forget how to use grammar structures as well as new words in the right way.
All in all, basing on many negative influences above, I venture to say that if we want our kids develop
in a better environment, we shouldn’t allow they to approach hi-tech equipment like mobile phone.
