Gender bias or gender inequality is one of ancient traditional concepts in human society, especially in
many Asia developed countries. In these countries, the social preconception tends to discriminate
between men and women, they prefer respect male to female in many aspects. That is the reason why
in many Asia countries, gender gaps have been more popular and it has a specific impact on the
society, the education and the economy. Social norms expect women to work in the informal sector,
serviced-related fields and they often act as a nurturer or caretaker in their home. In many Asia
countries, the quality of secondary school or higher education such as university level is only
accessible for a select group, especially for boys. Economists explained that Fixed Capital, Human
Capital and Labor Force are three main factors which could directly affect economic growth.

It is unequal that within the same opportunity, men often deserve better conditions than women due
to their physical health and also the gender gaps in society. A study by Korn Ferry Global Gender
Pay (2018) found that, on average, women earn 15% less than men within the same job and dealing
environment. Moreover, in Vietnam and China, women take up 50% of the full labor, but that
percentage of board representatives in OECD countries is only 20%. In 1963, Kennedy said, “All
people don't have equal talent, but all folks have an civil right to develop our talent.”. But there are
some who believe that men are more suitable to be a frontrunner and easier to induce accustomed
new environments, and it's difficult for ladies to become leaders because they often put emotions in
making decisions and that they rarely think thoroughly. Dowd (2006, p. A21) stated that “Women
only get to the highest of places just like the network evening news and Hollywood after those places

are devalued”. Therefore, it ends up in the matter that girls have less opportunity to figure in an
office or business, and that they must tackle the caretaker role within the home like raising children,
doing housework, … with none helps. Due to the gender discrimination in society, human in
nowadays and their later generation could be affected. Furthermore, social development could not
increase if the gender gaps still exist and happen within the human living environment.

People cannot deny that if students could achieve more education, they might have more opportunity
in recovering jobs with higher salaries and it may be an opportunity for them to interrupt patterns of
poverty and vulnerability. Unfortunately, those opportunities are often given to sons instead of
daughters, that's the rationale why poverty alleviation efforts have increasingly begun to assist
women through access to education. As an example, in Bangladesh and Afghanistan, only 13.2% in
2012 and 3.7% in 2011 students achieved the university level. Basically, it will be seen that with
higher educational achievement people could have higher incomes and better living standards. An
African proverb said “If we educate a boy, we educate one person. If we educate a lady, we educate a
family and a full nation.”. Per that statement, women are as equal as men in education, and there is
no reason to allow study opportunities to boys rather than giving it to girls. Knowles et al (2002) also
explained that it is important to teach females to extend labor productivity. Furthermore, Klasen &
Lamanna (2009), stated that gender inequalities in education would decrease the expansion of a
rustic directly. In some Southern Asian countries, like Nepal, Bangladesh and country, the girl’s
students who attempt in lower income classes tend to not accomplish their teaching and it is become
one amongst the key problems in these nations. Therefore, both men and women need to achieve
civil rights in study and respect within the educational environment, especially, developed countries
in Asia should eliminate the gender gaps and encourage girls to attend school additionally as boys.

The members of the planet Bank Development Research Group, Dollar & Gatti (1999) also stated
“Gender inequality decreases the common of Human Capital, because talented women would be
superseded by unqualified males which might result in inefficient economy.”. Within the Arab
region, 40% of females are unemployed, while the proportion of jobless women within the remainder
of the globe is simply 15%. It would definitely result in the rise of joblessness during this country.
Because of the conception of the social norm that male is more suitable and more talented than
females, an outsized number of talented women could not express their abilities to boost economic
process. Powerful women are more respectable than men, and most males are more nepotistic than
females, therefore women could improve the economic process better than men (AnandSwamy,
Omar, A., Stephen, K., & Young, L. 2001). Another serious impact of gender discrimination in Asia
countries like Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, women in these countries believe that men are more suitable than
them to possess employment and their personalities is raising children and spend all their life to
require care of the family. Therefore, in those countries, the quantity of jobless women is increasing
year by year and it has a dramatic effect on the economic level. Moreover, most families in China,
after their daughter completes the highschool level or university level, those families would persuade
or force them to induce married, rather than trying to find employment or continuing to attain a better
study level. Although China is one in all the foremost developed and modern countries within the
world, their conceptions of gender gaps still exist in many generations. In employment, gender
discrimination could lead on women to depart the marketplace, that the number of labor presentation
would decrease and also the level of economic process can be fallen.

To conclude, the history has been changed and plenty of countries in Asia are continuing to
encourage the event of equal opportunities for girls and better societal practices. The society is
increasing at a contemporary level year by year, therefore, many ancient conceptions or traditions are
not suitable nowadays and particularly the gender inequality should not have existed and lasted
within the human living environment. An English actress, an activist and she has acted as a job in
both blockbusters and independent films, Emma Watson once stated “It is time that we all see gender
as a spectrum rather than two sets of opposing ideals.”. In keeping with that statement, it can be seen
that there are not any distances between gender, between men and women, each individual within the
world deserves the identical opportunities in education, people within the society and have a right to
possess employment in any aspects that they are fascinated by.
