The best way to solve the world’s environmental problem is to increase the price of fuel. To what
extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Individuals can do nothing to improve the environment. Only governments and large companies can
make a difference. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion

Many people think cheap air travel should be encouraged because it gives ordinary people freedom to
travel further. However, others think this leads to environmental problem, so air travel should be more
expensive in order to discourage people from having it. Discuss the both sides and give your own
opinion

Some people think international cooperation has brought benefits to world environment protection,
while some people think more benefits has been brought to international business. Discuss both views

and give your own opinion

Many people say that we have developed into a “throw-away” culture, because we are filling up our
environment with so many plastic bags and rubbish that we cannot fully dispose of. To what extent do
you agree with this opinion and what measures can you recommend reducing this problem?

I think it is true that in almost every country today each household and family produces a large amount
of waste every week. Most of this rubbish comes from the packaging from the things we buy, such as
processed food. But even if we buy fresh food without packaging, we still produce rubbish from the
plastic bags used everywhere to carry commodities home.
The reason why we have so much packaging is that we consume so much more on a daily basis than
families did in the past. Convenience is also very important in modern life, so we buy packaged or

canned food that can be transported from long distances and stored until we need it, first in the
supermarket, and then at home.
However, I think the amount of waste product is also a result of our tendency to use something once
and throw it away. We forget that even the cheapest plastic bag has used up valuable resources and
energy to produce. We also forget that it is a source of pollution and difficult to dispose of.
I think, therefore, that governments need to raise this awareness in the general public. Children can be
educated about environmental issues at school, but adults need to take action. Governments can

encourage such actions by putting taxes on packaging, such as plastic bags, by providing recycling
services and by fining households and shops that do not attempt to recycle their waste.
With the political will, such measures could really reduce the amount of rubbish we produce. Certainly
nobody wants to see our resources used up and our planet poisoned by waste.

Many people think it is very important to protect environment but they make no effort to do it
themselves. Why does it happen? How to solve this problem?

Protect the environment is an obligation to all humans, and humans should be
responsible for a variety of environmental problems. Unfortunately, plenty of people do
nothing about it although they have realized the importance of protecting the
environment. There are several reasons for it and I will further elaborate in this essay.
Nevertheless, I believe possible measures could be taken into account to tackle this
issue.
To begin with, the lack of environmental awareness is the main reason for this
phenomenon. Some people have no idea that some of their careless daily behaviors
could have devastating effects on the planet. For instance, it is common to see people
using over-packaged products, while most of these packages are made in plastics.
However, plastic is a non-degradable material and it takes hundreds of years for to be
degraded. Furthermore, selfishness also contributes to non-environmental behaviors.
For self-centered people, their own benefits and conveniences are the primary concerns

and they pin their hopes on others to improve this world. Moreover, this attitude will

negatively influence on other people especially to their children, since children are likely
to imitate adults.
Several measures could be done to address this problem. Firstly, individuals can take
public transport rather than driving to reduce the emissions from private vehicles.
Secondly, they can choose products with less packaging or products with degradable
materials to reduce the impact of non-degradable materials. In addition, households can
use several rubbish bins to garbage classification, thus, useful materials can be recycled
and reused in order to save energy and raw materials.
In conclusion, people lack actions to protect the environment because they lack
environmental awareness and being selfish. Nevertheless, individuals are able to make
contribution to make this planet better.
Developments of technology are causing environmental problems. Some people think the solution is
that everyone accept a simpler life, while others believe that technology can solve these problems.
Discuss both views and give your opinion

Food travels thousands of miles from farm to consumer. Some people think that it would be better to
our environment and economic if people only ate local produced food. What extents the disadvantage
outweigh the advantage?

There is no iota of doubt that, Food plays a crucial role in ensuring a
healthy life which is an utmost priority of every person. Food travels from
farm to consumer after undergoing through various stages which in turn
make it partly not suitable for eating because of this we need to ate only
locally produced fresh and healthy food. The phenomenon is offering
multifarious benefits to local people, environment and economy. However, a
couple of problems due to the same. The following paragraphs would cast

light on the pros and cons of food travelling.
To begin with the bright side, there are myriad advantages, if food
travels. Firstly, people can enjoy a range of fruits and vegetables from all
over the world. Hence
, people can freely perceive and purchase any kind of
food. For instance, about ten years ago, kiwi fruit was unknown to the
Bangladeshis, which is from New Zealand, but now everyone knows it. On
the top of everything, It still fosters the international trade, which helps
many farmers reach the international market and help countries fulfil their
cuisine requirements. . Moreover, quality of food also
declines to some extent. Yet, locally produced food
is the best alternative whereby people can eat fresh and complete, organic
food which is very essential for a healthy body.
On the flip side of the coin, there are a handful of nasty consequences
as well. Firstly, food travels by various modes of transport, which in turn not
only enhances the price of Food but also result in creating pollution. For
example ,lots of trucks and cargoes travelling food cause air, water pollution
and the cost of transportation added to food price, so the price is higher by
reason.
To conclude, These days
food has been transported for miles in order to cater to the demand. But if
aforementioned demand can be satisfied by producing and consuming food

locally, it would bring a lot of advantages to the environment and the
economy of that country despite a few negligible drawbacks.
Pollution and other environmental problems are resulting from a country’s developing and becoming
richer. Some think this cannot be avoided. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The biggest concern in today’s world is pollution and environmental waste. As

countries are progressing and become wealthier environmental problem are
growing day by day which cannot be neglected. I totally agree with statement.
First of all, in developing countries pollution is the main problem for the
atmosphere. To become richer state, country depend on their industries which
eventually create the industrial waste. Moreover, poor infrastructure also cause
not only ecological but also effect the healthy environment. For instance, a
research is conducted by university of Mumbai, 60% of total environmental
issues is created by industries which include pollution and other toxic waste.
Secondly, the effect of pollution and environmental issue on human health is so
dangerous that it cannot be avoided. The smog atmosphere generated the toxics
in air which increase the diseases of lung and throat. Moreover, it not only effect
humans but other species on this planet. In last few years, we have seen that
large number of dead fishes are coming on shore of oceans around the world.
This situations become the eye opener for decision maker of developing
countries. For example, in mid 90s London face the smoky and fog weather
which effects the health of senior citizen and children. Eventually, this weather
cost many lives which makes the policy maker and other streak holder to think
about this and takes major steps to dispose the industrial wastage as well the air
pollution.
To conclude this, we can only overcome the pollution and environmental is to
create the ecofriendly environment.
