Milton Park
More Expansion Announced

Toronto, October 20 – The Milton
Park Mall has announced continued
development in the future. It will add four
new stores to its selection of retail outlets and
restaurants: Video World, The Sports House,
Mendell’s Flowers, and The Italian Bakery.
At the heart of downtown, these new
stores will be located on the new block to be
constructed on the east side of the mall,
which is designed to accommodate the

growing number of shoppers which more
than tripled in the last five years. PR manager
Jay Simons says that the owners are pleased
with the mall’s increasing popularity
throughout the city over the years. “We
knew that building the store downtown would
be a great business decision. We just didn’t
predict it would be thriving at this scale.” said
Simons. Last January, the company doubled
its parking space for the mall and had to
demolish the aging Fortune Suites building to
accommodate the expansion. The removal of
the historic property required a special
municipal vote and was met with public
outcry.

The store annex will be completed in
eight months and two of its tenants, Video
World and The Sports House, already have
locations in the mall. Both stores will need
the extra space to house an expanded
selection of goods. The Sports House has also

shops in the mall along with the Cake
Experience on the third floor of the main

Varley’s Electronics
Launches New Computer
By Nathanial Chang

Charleston, January 6―The latest laptop
computer to be introduced by
Charleston-based Varley’s Electronics is
certain to be very popular in the electronics
world. The STM-4's small size, along with
its light weight and larger storage capacity
combines both portability and practicality.
The new machine's high resolution and
user-friendliness make it particularly
attractive for graphic design applications; its
phenomenal processing speed will appeal to
all computer users. The STM-4 will be sold
with the most up-to-date design software
program, which will make full use of the
STM-4's enhanced graphic capacity.

In a recent interview, Hannah Leung of
Varley’s Electronics expressed herself as
"delighted" by the positive approval rating
the STM-4 has been receiving. She also
noted that the STM-4's competitive price

would "appeal to anyone who wanted to buy
it". The STM-4 will be released on the
market at the beginning of February.

Subject: New Computers

Adele,

In order to update our computer machinery here at Huatulco Corporation, we require 20 new
PC's before the end of the year. In accordance with our assessment and in line with our budget, I
have given the go-ahead for that purchase. I want to recommend that we look at buying
Varley’ s Electronics latest model, the STM-4. Nathanial Chang's recent article on the STM-4 in
the Computer News magazine is most interesting and one you might want to review.

As you are aware, our graphic design team has been using old models purchased from Star
Innovations years ago. The STM-4 would give our designers more power, and more memory at a
minimal cost to the company, to say nothing of the increased morale it would also provide.

Would you give my suggestion concerning the STM-4 some serious thought and get back to me?
I'm in Hong Kong for meetings next week, so if we could get together before I leave, we could
discuss this question in more depth. If you agree, I would like to order the STM-4 from Varley’ s
Electronics as soon as it becomes available in stores.

Regards,
Angela

Free Versions of Software Programs Increase Revenues
By: Susan Dibble

Offering free trial programs has been a
useful way for companies to advertise new
merchandise for a decade. Software
manufacturers place trial versions of their
products on Web sites such as
Freeshare.com that authorize potential
buyers to download and test the new
software at no charge for a limited time,
after which the program fails to operate. At

that point, the client is given the opportunity
of buying the full version. This approach to
marketing software has been particularly
effective for smaller businesses.

Brotini Electronics, reputed for its video
games, has increased its sales considerably
by launching trial versions of its new
merchandise. Its fast success is the envy of
larger corporations whose similar releases
have not translated themselves into cash
cows. Brotini Electronics' latest two games
which were posted on Freeshare just two
months ago have already gone onto the Top
10 best-seller list of Video Inventors
Magazine. The company has recently
produced a new video game which has not
yet been made available on Freeshare but
which has nevertheless already been added
to the Top 10 list in the ninth place. The
new game's steady sales since its recent
launch have marketing people think sales
would have been even higher, had a trial
version been launched.
