“Discuss THREE most notable DISADVANTAGES which TV advertisement may
bring to the young generation nowadays”

TV not only brings us the storehouse of knowledge and information, but it is also a cheap
entertainment channel in our home. However, besides benefits, TV commercials have
three most notable downsides that I would like to discuss below.
Firstly, the purpose of advertisements is to attract watchers to buy their products. Many
messages and exaggerations /ɪɡˌzædʒəˈreɪʃn/ are not true. But the young people believe
and demand parents buy them which influences buying better options/ young people do
not understand the concept of a sales pitch. They tend to believe what they are told and
may even assume /əˈsuːm/ that they are deprived /dɪˈpraɪvd/ if they do not have
advertised products.
Next, the advertising directed toward children is related to food, many of those are
unhealthy foods high in sugar, fats, and salt. Under the influence of such ads, children
tend to demand to buy more unhealthy foods, leading to obesity and other diseases.
Finally, commercials usually show comparisons to prove how one product is superior /suː
ˈpɪriər/ or better than the rest. Children might get influenced by them and start comparing
themselves with their friends or believing they are either superior or inferior to the rest.
Such behavior may either lower their self-confidence or make them feel superior to
others.
In conclusion, I think although there might be a few advantages of commercials, there are
more adverse effects. We should control what content the young people watch on TV,
especially, parent must patiently guide and teach them to be conscious about the right
things.

EXPLORATION and DISCOVERY

“Discuss THREE most beneficial THINGS which travelling may bring to travelers
worldwide”
For many people, traveling is not only for relaxation but also for passion. They desire to
discover new lands and new things everywhere. Traveling brings many benefits to
travelers, three beneficial ones I would like to discuss below.

Firstly, traveling let us explore new places that we always want to visit or dreamt about.
We hear about these places in books, films or on TV now we have got the opportunity to
witness them. At that time we will feel how amazing is it.
Secondly, traveling is not only let you create lifetime memories but also improves your
understanding of many different cultures, people and countries, these experience opens
your mind to lots of new ideas, enrich the knowledge that makes you more interesting.
Thirdly, traveling can help you reduce stress, even a cure for depression, and might help
you feel better, both physically /ˈfɪzɪkli/ and psychologically /ˌsaɪkəˈlɑːdʒɪkli/.
In conclusion, traveling brings us many fresh, exciting discoveries, it is a useful way to
enjoy and make your life more interesting. However, you should prepare carefully all
things for a healthy and safe trip.

GLOBALISATION
“Discuss THREE most valuable ADVANTAGES which globalization may bring to
people in the modern world”
Globalization

/ˌɡləʊbəlaɪˈzeɪʃn/

helps

to

connect

countries

through

various

relationships, from business, technology, travel, culture, and the media /ˈmiːdiə/. I would
like to discuss three most valuable benefits of globalization.
Firstly, globalization promotes global competition, requiring companies to enhance
quality and provide affordable /əˈfɔːrdəbl/ prices to survive. Consumers have many
options with the best and cheapest ones from all corners of the globe.

Next, globalization can help cross-cultural exchanges, food, music, and languages.
People can open their mind and their new knowledge helps develop stronger empathy
/ˈempəθi/ and appreciation for people of other cultures.
Finally, globalization helps to share technology or materials such as the vaccine
Coronavirus worldwide to help hospitals deal with the illness.
In conclusion, people benefit from many positive aspects of globalization. It is a potent
/ˈpəʊtnt/ force for growth, development, helps to advance interconnectivity and progress
throughout the world.

COMMUNICATION
“Discuss THREE most notable DISADVANTAGES which the internet may bring to
the young generation nowadays”
Nowadays, it’s difficult to imagine a world without the internet. However, besides
benefits, the internet also has its own disadvantages, especially for the young generation
nowadays. I would like to discuss three most notable downsides below.
Firstly, the internet can impact negatively their attention ability when young people
usually surf the Internet during working hours, or even some children are also caught
playing games online during class hours.
Next, young people spend most of their time on the internet instead of spending time
playing sports, join in other creative activities or hobbies. It is not good for their health.
Finally, they can be impacted by violent, criminal, sexual, or other risky behavior on the
internet. Especially, these issues have negative effects and leave a bad impression on

young people and as result, they might have trouble in the future.
In conclusion, I think although there might be a few advantages of children using the
internet, there are more adverse effects. We should control what content they watch on
the internet, and guide them on the ways to use the internet autonomously /ɔː
ˈtɑːnəməsli/ and effectively /ɪˈfektɪvli/.

SHOPPING
“Discuss the ADVANTAGES and DISADVANTAGES of shopping ONLINE”

Nowadays, more and more people like shopping online because of many
advantages, especially, in the Covid-19 pandemic situation spreading all over the
world. However, beside advantages, online shopping also has some downsides.
In terms of the benefits, Firstly, online shopping is very convenient and saves your
time because you can shop everything at home through e-commerce sites instead
of visiting the shops or supermarkets. Secondly, you have more choices and can
compare prices and brands of products on many different websites. Finally, online
shopping is a tendency which is being encouraged. Some stores will discount the
prices of products if you shop and pay online.
Besides the advantages, shopping online has some downsides. Firstly, sometimes
you shop online and receive items that don't match the description in terms of style,
quality, color or size. Secondly, the products on e-commerce sites are very
plentiful and multiform, so the customers tend to buy the products too much. This
problem is a cause of waste of money.
In conclusion, I think online shopping has many practical and preeminent benefits.
Especially, during the complicated situation of the covid-19 epidemic /ˌepɪˈdemɪk/,
online shopping has been being solved many problems for customers and also
sellers.

MONEY
“Discuss THREE most notable EFFECTS which money may have on the human’s
life”
In my perspective, our life like a car and money is fuel which help the car operate. I
would like to discuss three notable effects of money on the human's life.
The first most effect of money is maintaining the life from most basic demands, buying
food, clothes, and medicine for example. Money is necessary for obtaining the goods and
services you need to survive.
Next, money can brings security. Have enough money we’ll never need to worry about
having enough to eat, or about being able to see a doctor when being sick. Besides, we
can invest money to get good education for our children. This doesn’t mean we’ll be able
to afford everything we want, but we’ll be able to enjoy a stable life.
Finally, money gives us freedom to pursue /pərˈsuː/ our dreams and assert /əˈsɜːrt/ our
self. We can enjoy the life without struggling for living. Especially, we have more
abilities to help other people with fewer opportunities.
In conclusion, the way I think it is money can’t buy happiness, but it can buy security and
safety for us and our loved ones. Money is not all, but without money we will have big
problems. It really affect to everyone in all aspects /ˈæspekt/ of life.

HEALTH
“Discuss the reasons why staying healthy is more important than having much
money”
Health is the foundation from which we can build any other aspect of our life, including
wealth. So I think staying healthy is more important than having much money because all
that we accumulate /əˈkjuːmjəleɪt/ means nothing when our health fails and we can’t
enjoy what we’ve built.

Firstly, without health, we can’t build wealth. If you are spending a lot of time and
energy managing an illness or even the effects of stress on your body and mind, you are

not able to be fully committed to achieving other goals in life.
Secondly, money can’t buy health. While being in good health gives you the time,
energy, and drive to make extra money, with many exceptions it doesn’t work the other
way around. We can’t neglect /nɪˈɡlekt/ our health over many years and then expect to
get it back by throwing money at it.
Finally, wealth cannot ultimately /ˈʌltɪmətli/ make you happy. Sometimes, we are
damaging ourselves in pursuit of wealth. We are always busy and feel stressed, trading
our health, ignoring /ɪɡˈnɔːr/ the relationship around us, and then we realize it is too late
for getting them back.
In conclusion, we should keep the balance /ˈbæləns/ between earning money and

enjoying life, especially, staying healthy by doing exercise, spending more time
eating and preparing food, scheduling dates with family and friends, and other
positive activities in our life.

MEDIA
“Discuss THREE most notable REASONS why media is important to young
generation nowadays”
Media, such as magazines, radio, television, and the Internet, is important to the young
generation nowadays because of some reasons below.
Firstly, young people can broaden their understanding of the world through media
because it provides a source of huge knowledge for all people, especially for the young
people who always have many questions. It can help them to seek support, and find
information by surfing the internet.

Secondly, media helps them develop communication skills by connecting people from all
over the world as well as strengthening relationships who are living far away, and
allowing them to stay in touch and share their lives with ease.
Finally, media can help young people raise /reɪz/ awareness of a particular cause that they

are interested in to have a real-world impact on effecting change where they want to see
it. For example, an 8-year-old girl in the United States accidentally /ˌæksɪˈdentəli/
watched a scene of children going hungry because of a lack of food in Africa. And then
she asked her parents to find a way to send the money she saved to help those unfortunate
/ʌnˈfɔːrtʃənət/ children.
In conclusion, the influence of the media on the psychosocial development of children is
profound /prəˈfaʊnd/. Besides the positive impacts that I mentioned above, media also
has many downsides, so parents should discuss and provide guidance on age-appropriate
use of all media, including television, radio, music, video games, and the Internet.
