How to pronounce “-ed”
1. -ed phát âm là /id/ với các động từ có âm cuối là
/t/ , /d/
Eg: conduct - conducted, need - needed
2. -ed phát âm là /t/ với các động từ có âm cuối là
/k/, /f/, /p/, /s/, /∫/, /ʧ/
Eg: look- looked, laugh- laughed, jump- jumped
miss- missed, establish- established,
watch-watched
3. -ed phát âm là /d/ với các động từ có âm cuối là
/b/, /v/, /z/, /m/, /n/, /ŋ/, /l/, /r/, /g/, /ʒ/, /dʒ/, /ð/, các
nguyên âm i,ay... (trường hợp khơng thuộc 2 nhóm
trên).
Eg: live- lived , name- named, change- changed

REVIEW :

1. SIMPLE PAST TENSE

Form: * (be) :
S + was/ were (not)
* (Vo) :
S + Ved / V2
* (Vo, not) : S + did + not + V(inf)
Recognition words:
* yesterday, last, ago, once, in the old days, once day, this
morning, in + (year in past)
* When/As + S + was/ were + N, S + V(simple past)
* As + N + S + V(simple past)
* After V-ing, S + V(simple past)
Usage:
* hành động xảy ra tại 1 thời điểm xác định ở quá khứ.
* hành động, thói quen ở quá khứ và đã chấm dứt ở
hiện tại. (used to + V(inf) )

2. PRESENT PERFECT TENSE

S + has / have (not) + Ved / V3

Recognition words:
* several times = many times ; just, already, not … yet ;
so far = up to now = up to the present = until now ; lately
= recently
* How long …?
* since + 1 điểm thời gian * for + 1 khoảng thời gian
* in/ for/ during the last/ past few (days, weeks …)
* It / This is the first / second / third … time …
Usage:
* hành động vừa mới xảy ra không xác định thời gian rõ
ràng.
* hđ xảy ra trong quá khứ kéo dài đến hiện tại, tương lai.


REVIEW :
3. PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE

Form:

S + has / have (not) + been + V-ing

Usage:
* dùng như hiện tại hoàn thành nhưng để nhấn mạnh
tính liên tục của hành động.
* hành động có kết quả ở hiện tại.

Example:
1. He has been working for ten hours without rest.
2. He has been working for ten hours now.
3. I’m exhausted. I have been working for hours.

4. SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE

S + will / shall (not) + V(inf)

Recognition words:
* tomorrow, next (week / month…) ; someday ; again ;
soon
* in + time in future
Ex : I’ll call you tomorrow
NEAR FUTURE:
be going to + V(inf)
* dự định sẽ
* dự đốn tương lai có cơ sở hiện tại
Ex : I’m going to fly to London
Ex : Look at those black clouds. It’s going to rain.
be + V-ing
* kế hoạch/ sắp xếp. Ex : I’m flying to London this Friday
