The diagrams illustrate transformations that took place in a town called Lynnfield
from 1936 to 2007
Overall, there are a number of drastic changes, the most substantial of which are
the development of a accommodaiton area and the construction of a shopping mall.
In the northwestern corner of the town, the majority of the trees were chopped
down, and the cycle path was reconstructed into a road to the southwest. In the
centre of Lynnfield, the bank, the library and the post office remained unchanged,
while the sweet shop and the butchers was removed to make space for a
supermarket. In addition, the flowershop was repurposed to a travel agent,
accompanied by
the erection of a shopping center, replacing the vacant land.
There used to be a river in the northeastern section, but it was then redeveloped
into a residental area to cater for increased housing demands. Finally, The
southeast witnessed considerable changes, with the government offices being
turned into a museum and the farmland becoming a golf course.
