S+ Has/Have+ been + Ving +O
He, she, it, Lan, a flower + has (‘s)
I, We, you, they, Lan and Nam, flowers + have (‘ve)

I have been learning English for a long time
I haven’t been learning English for a long time
Have you been learning English for a long time ?


THE USES
 talk

about an action or activity that started in the
past and continues now or has only just stopped.

Future

It’s so boring! It's been raining all day. (and it is still raining).



THE USES
 To

talk about a current situation that started in the
past.
 To ask and answer How long …?
 Use it with for + a period of time or since + a
point in time.

I've been living in this city for eight years.
How long has he been playing chess?
Since he was nine years old.


THE USES
 To

give reasons for current situations.

Why is she tired? She's been working hard all
day.’
Why is your hair wet? I've been getting caught in
the rain.


Do not use Present perfect continuous
with STATE VERBS (be, have, know)
I've known Jack for five years
