You are suggested to spend maximum 15 seconds for each question to talk about the
following topic. You are supposed to extend the answer with adequate information.
HOMETOWN 1
1. Which part of the country are you living now?
Now I am living in the North of Vietnam, where the climate is separated into
four seasons such as spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Each season has
its own characteristics, so if you can live here for a year, you can understand
more clearly about how the variety of the weather in Vietnam.
2. Do youngsters in your town spend much their free time taking outdoor activities?
Yes, they are. After school, they often play outdoor activities together.
3. What jobs do the local people do?
They work as the farmers and workers. Because we live in a countryside and
close to the industrial zone, so if they don’t work as the farmers they will be to
the workers in the factories.
4. What do you like most about your hometown?
The one that I like most in my hometown is everyone is living close together
and willing to give others a hand when they need help. The people in my
hometown are very kind and friendly.

I am living in Ha Noi, the capital of Viet Nam.
2. What do the local residents often do in their free time?


In the free time, they often meet and chat happily each other or other sports
together.
3. What are their popular jobs?
Their popular jobs are the officer, workers, builders, and self-employed people.
4. Are all young people in your hometown go to university after school?
No, not at all. Most of them will go into the factories in the industrial zone
where close to my village to work, the others will go to university after school.

No, I don’t. I live in a small family. There are 02 generations in my family. They
are my spouse and my children.
3. What does your mother do?
My mother is a engineer. She is a very hardworking woman. I love her so much.
4. How much time do you spend with your family?
I usually spend a lot of time with my family. Because in my opinion, the most
important thing in my life is my family. So I always try my best to balance
between my work and family to spend time with my relatives.

I am from Ha Noi city. It is the capital of Viet Nam.
2. Do you live with your family
Yes, I do. I live with my family in law. We are the large family.
3. What is your father’s job?
My father is a doctor. He is good looking and so smart. But he is very strict in
raising us. I really look up him and love him so much.
4. Do you prefer going out with your family or your friends?

I prefer going out with my family. Because they are the closest people in my
life. When I am next to them, I feel very comfortable and relaxing, I also can
shake off all of the stresses of the life.

I was born in a small family. I am the last child of my parents.

My parents are very important to me in my family. They have a great influence
on the formation of my character. They also always encourage, motivate and
inspire me to develop myself. They are wonderful parents on the world.

We don’t often eat out together, but we hold the party at home regularly at the
weekend. We cook and chat happily together at that time. I find that I am a
lucky person because I was born in a happy family.

Task 3: Topic Discussion (2 minutes)
1. ADVERTISEMENT
“Discuss THREE most notable DISADVANTAGES which TV advertisement may
bring to the young generation nowadays”
Nowadays, TV advertisement is becoming more and more popular. Besides the positive
aspects TV advertisement still exist some disadvantages.
- The first disadvantages is that it makes the audiance feel uncomfortable because of
being disturbed. Ads appear with high frequency and boring repetition are inserted
between TV programs especially in prime time frames or popular shows that attract many
viewers. As such, those programs will be interrupted many times and ruin audiance’s
enjoyment.
- Moreover, advertising encourages people to buy more than what they need.
Sometimes, because of the appeal marketing, people are attracted too much even buy
goods which are not required, of course this will lead to a wasteful spending.
- Finally, Some bad advertising content can affect viewers, especially children. Besides
the ads with good value, there are still ads that contain offensive and violent content. They
can have a negative effect on viewers.
In Conclution, we knows the disadvantages of television advertising. The audiance
should consider carefully when choosing this form of advertising.

2. EXPLORATION and DISCOVERY

“Discuss THREE most beneficial THINGS which travelling may bring to travelers
worldwide”


-Travelling has many benefits for travelers worldwide.
- First of all,traveling is the chance to see the world and meet different cultures. The
world has many colorful landscapes and consist of different amazing cultures. One of the
best ways to learn about them is to travel. Discovering different values in life is really
interesting.
-Secondly, Travelling makes people have more soft skills. After traveling, they will learn
amazing skills that will benefit in their lives. For example, personal financial management
skill, planning skill, communication skill even survival skill.
- Finally, Travel improves health. The health benefits that people gain after each trip are
huge: reduce stress, reduce the risk of heart disease, increase the flexibility of bones and
joints. Mental health is also markedly improved after each journey. People feel much
happier when traveling often.
- In conclusion, travelling brings people a lot of advantages. It can improve travelers's
understanding of the world and gives travelers a lot of wonderful experiences and
unforgetable memories.

3. GLOBALISATION
“Discuss THREE most valuable ADVANTAGES which globalization may bring to
people in the modern world”
- Globalization is the trend of the times and it has brought countless benefits to people
in modern life.
- Firstly, globalization helps to increase international trade which contributes to
economic development. When the economy develops, it will create many job opportunities,
reducing the unemployment rate and improving people's living standards.
- Secondly, Globalization also contributes to an increase in international travel and
tourism. The development of transportation systems makes traveling between countries

simple and convenient, taking less time.
-Finally, Globalization enables people all over the world to exchange cultures
internationally. It allows people to contact with the lifestyles, languages, and arts of other
countries. That cultural exchange helps people's lifestyles become more diverse and open,
absorbing good things.
- In conclusion, globalization brings many benefits to people all over the world in
modern life.
4. MONEY
“Discuss THREE most notable EFFECTS which money may have on the human’s
life”
- In such a costly and competitive society and world, no one can live without money.
Peole need money to fulfil their basic needs of the life.
- Firstly, people need money to survive their life, because nothing is free in the
world, everything needs money. As we know that goods are more expensive day
by day, they need money to pay for house, foods, drink, traveling and so on.


- Futhermore, people use money for their health. If they are severely sick and
need expensive medication, with wealth, they can have better treatment.
- Last but not least, The rich can help those in need. In fact, there are many
benefactors who have an honest heart that spends their money to help the poor,
seriously ill people who cannot pay for treatment. They make life better by money.
To sum up, because of the reasons I mentioned above, I believe that money has
some positive effects on people life.

5. COMMUNICATION
“Discuss THREE most notable DISADVANTAGES which the internet may bring to
the young generation nowadays”
-The internet has increasingly developed and became part of out every day life. Nobody
can deny the benefits that the internet brings us. But everything has two sides, the internet

also has many disadvantages.
- First and foremost, the young are easily addicted to the Internet. They spend
too much time on social networking like: Facebook, Zalo, Twitter… or watching
movies. They have no real friends and when Internet is down they are getting furious.
- Moreover, it’s easy for them to have some health problems when they use the
Internet for a long time. They might have high risks of various diseases such as:
back ache, bad eye sights, tiredness, sleeplessness and so on.

- Another drawback is Internet is the most popular source of spreading viruses. These
viruses can attack people’s privacy and get information. It’s hard to predict what will
happen if you were hacked the account.
- In short, everything has its two sides, so does Internet. T he Internet can bring some
downsides to the young people if they don’t know how to use it effectively.
