FOREWORD
( Lời nói đầu )
Cuốn sách này được biên soạn để dạy cho học sinh chuyên nghiệp kỹ thuật.
Nội dung văn phạm dựa trên cơ sở của chương trình Streamlines Departures,
Streamlines connections, chương trình tiếng Anh dùng cho học sinh, sinh viên
trường kỹ thuật, chương trình từ vựng chuyên ngành công nhân kỹ thuật
Mục đích của cuốn sách này nhằm nâng cao và củng cố phần kiến thức cho học
sinh chuyên nghiệp kỹ thuật đẵ học qua kiến thức sơ cấp tiếng Anh để đạt được
trình độ cần thiết có khả năng áp dụng tiếng anh một cách thành thạo như một
phương tiện giao tiếp trong các tình huống đặc trưng đối với hoạt động nghề
nghiệp trong tương lai.
Nội dung chương trình gồm 25 bài học. Mỗi bài được chia theo các phần: từ
vựng cơ bản ( cộng từ kỹ thuật ), cấu trúc ngữ pháp theo nội dung bài khoá, luyện
tập thực hành, bài tập.
Qua đó học sinh có thể sử dụng các từ kỹ thuật bằng tiếng Anh để đặt câu hoặc
diễn đạt câu thuộc lĩnh vực chuyên ngành.
Trong quá trình biên soạn chắc chắn sẽ không tránh khỏi thiếu sót, rất mong
được sự đóng góp của các đồng nghiệp và quý bạn đọc để nội dung cuốn sách
được phong phú hoàn thiện hơn trong lần biên soạn sau.

Bill Craig and John Fitzgerald are pilots. Last year their plane crashed in the
Pacific Ocean. They were in a rubber dinghy for four weeks.

They didn’t have much water and they didn’t have many things to eat.
They had a few bananas and a little brandy from their plane. They caught a lot of
fish.
They had only a little chocolate. They had only a few biscuits and a few apples.
Affer four weeks they saw a ship and the ship rescued them.
Two cars were going along Cambridge Street. An Englishman was driving
a Rolls-Royce, and a foreign student was driving a V.W. The Englishman was
driving slowly and carefully. The student wasn’t driving carefully.

While two cars were going, suddenly the dog ran across the road. The English
driver saw the dog. He braked quickly. The V.W crashed into the Rolls-Royce.
When two cars
crashed, a girl was walking on the pavement. The girl saw the accident and ran to
a telephone box. The police came immediately.

Accident report by Fred Robb
At about 10.40 yesterday morning, Bill and David carry the long 8 m ladder to
the building site. They placed it near the scaffolding. They lifted it in the correct
way:
- First, they placed the ladder on the ground at 90 to the wall. The foot of the
ladder was 2 m from the wall.
Bill held down the floor on the ladder.
- David lifted the top above his head.

- Then walked slowly forward, lifting the ladder slowly upwards. Suddenly,
when thr ladder was vertical in the air, a strong wind blew. The ladder moved to
the right towards the scaffolding. It hit the scaffolding and then fell downwards
and toward Jim ( who was on a ground at the bottom of the scaffolding.) The
ladder hit him and he fell against the scafolding and broke his left arm.

Safety
