1. GRAMMAR
1.1 WILL, first conditional
- Usage: First conditionals predict the effects of a real or
probable action or event.
- Structure: IF + S + V (+ O), S + WILL
We use the present tense in the if clause and future tense in the main
clause.
Ex:
If you are our lucky winner, you will have the best night of
your life in our exciting capital city.
You will have some time to relax before dinner if you are
tired after the journey.

1.2 WILL for spontaneous decisions
- We use WILL when we make decision as we are
speaking.
Ex: Pls, leave your name and message, Mr.Waterman
will call back to you ASAP.
- “To be going to…” used for a fixed arrangement.
Ex: you are going to have a one hour test after I send


you the review.

WRITE IF OR WHEN
Use if to express a possibility and when to
express a certainty.
- It will be too late to do anything about it when we
are sure
- We’ll have to work very hard if we want to save
the planet.

/I/ and /i:/
- Short pronunciation /I/: hill, live, will, chip, sit, fill
- Long pronunciation /i:/ : he’ll, leave, we’ll, cheap,
seat, feel.

Leaving message: When leaving message, it’s
necessary to pay attention to
- Contact information: name, organization or
relationship
- The reason why you call.
- Leave your message: ask the receiver to call
back or confirm you something.
