Loại bỏ các tệp tin '.dll' nhàn rỗi

Nếu bạn tìm kiếm tất cả các tệp tin định dạng .dll trong máy, bạn có thể sẽ
ngạc nhiên- thậm chí “choáng” bởi số tệp tin tìm được. Hầu hết những tệp tin
này cần thiết để vận hành trơn tru ứng dụng. Tuy nhiên, cũng sẽ không có ít
tệp tin tồn tại những chẳng có tác dụng gì ngoại trừ “ngốn” tài nguyên hệ
thống và làm máy tính của bạn ngày càng trở nên “ì ạch”.

Những tệp tin dll nhàn rỗi đến từ đâu? Nguyên nhân phổ biến nhất là tình trạng lặp
lại tệp tin (một tệp tin có thể xuất hiện ở 2, 3 thư mục) do các ứng dụng cùng sử
dụng lại một tệp tin dll. Khi bạn cài đặt một ứng dụng, ứng dụng sẽ tự đặt các tệp
tin dll trong tự mục tự tạo hoặc trong thư mục gốc của Windows. Trong trường hợp
tệp tin dll thuộc thư viện chia sẻ (dùng chung), thư mục mặc định sẽ là System.
Thực trạng là mỗi nhà sản xuất phần mềm luôn tìm cách cài đặt các tệp tin dll “của
riêng mình” trên máy người sử dụng. Chính vì vậy, việc trùng lặp các tệp tin thư
viện động (dll) là không thể tránh khỏi!

Giải pháp để loại bỏ bớt các tệp tin dll nhàn rỗi là xoá bỏ các tệp tin trùng lặp một
khi đã phát hiện sự hiện diện của những tệp tin này trong thư mục System. Công
việc này không phải đơn giản. Rất có thể hai tệp tin dll cùng tên nhưng lại khác
phiên bản. Trong trường hợp tệp tin dll giữ trong thư mục System thuộc phiên bản
cũ, các chương trình đòi phiên bản mới sẽ không thể chạy bình thường nếu phiên
bản mới đã bị xoá đi.

Nguồn dll nhàn rỗi thứ hai phải kể tới là các tệp tin dll “mồ côi”: những tệp tin còn
sót lại sau khi ứng dụng đã được rỡ bỏ (uninstall). Mặc định, chương trình xoá cài
đặt hiểu những tệp tin này thuộc dạng chia sẻ và sẽ lưu chúng lại. Chính quyết định
mang tính “an toàn” này đã tạo ra không ít những dll “mồ côi”.

Xác minh dll

Công đoạn đầu tiên trước khi tìm cách làm trong sạch thư viện động dll là bạn phải

biết rơ mỗi tệp tin dll cần thiết cho ứng dụng nào và phiên bản của chúng. Để có
được những thông tin này, bạn có thể nhấn chuột phải vào tệp tin và xem thuộc
tính (properties) của chúng.

Nếu máy tính của bạn có cài đặt phần mềm diệt virus của MacAfee, chương trình
cho phép bạn duyệt danh sách các tệp tin dll cần thiết cho từng ứng dụng trên máy.
Trong trường hợp bạn cần tới sự trợ giúp của các chuyên gia, có thể truy nhập cơ
sở dữ liệu dll của Microsoft (, chọn Resources/Dll Help
Database). Có thể nói đây là website cung cấp đầy đủ thông tin nhất về các tệp tin
dll dành cho máy chạy các phiên bản của hệ điều hành Microsoft Windows.
