I. Objectives:
- By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to use the “present perfect tense”
with “for and since”.
- Use the comparison with “like”, (not) as as, (not) the same as, different
from to do some exercises.

1. Warm-up: (matching)
T sticks a poster of infinitives and
past participles on the board.
1. Match the infinitives with the past
participles:
Ex: be  been
T divides the class into 2 teams. be gone see
collected



Ask Sts from 2 teams to go to the

2. Activities:
Activity 1: T uses flip-chart.
Asks Sts to review “for and since”.

Sts work in pairs.
Call some pairs to give their answers.

2. Complete the expressions use for and
since:

Activity 2:

a) Review form of the present perfect
tense:
T writes form on the board.

Sts copy down.

b) Gap filling exercise:
T asks sts do exercise.
Call Sts to answer.

T checks and corrects.
Sts copy down.

Activity 3:
T asks sts to work in pairs and read
the dialogue (once).
T asks Sts to work in pairs to
complete the dialogue and then play
the role infront of the class.

perfect form of the verbs in brackets:
Form:
Positive: have/has + V p-p
Negative: have not/ + V p-p

Interrogative: have/ + S + V p-p

4. Complete the conversation, use the
correct form of the verbs in the box:
