LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
Dear Admissions Committee,
I am Do Van Uy, Master, Deputy of Faculty of Information Technology. I have known Ms Hoang Thanh
Nga for two years as a student in our faculty. The capacity in which I have known Nga is as her
supervisor (instructing a group of five students doing their theses), her lecturer (teaching “Information
System Analysis and Design” and “Information System Security”) and as the Deputy of the faculty. In all
of these roles, I have a very good chance to observe her performance and to communicate with her
personally, which leaves me well placed to write a letter of recommendation to your university.
Nga has a good academic result. In two classes I lectured, her grade is high, grade 9/10 for “Information
system Analysis and Design”, and 8/10 for “Information System Security”. She is one of the top ten
students with highest mark in my class. Compared to other students, she has advantage of her practical
experience. She spent time doing part-time job in some companies that is very useful in forming the logic
thinking in analyzing and designing an information system.
During practice periods, she has done research with some of my colleagues in other departments. Thus
she has many experiences, making her get started quickly and adjust her plan efficiently when
approaching a new concept. After studying general knowledge about security and hacker attack, at
present, Nga does research about the application-level security for a web application.
In addition, Nga is very active on social activities. She played an important role in many events for
students in our faculty. She is also a well-organized student. To take part in class and extra-activities
requires students to use their time effectively. As the Deputy of the faculty, at the beginning of each year, I
have a meeting with the Youth Union of our faculty in which Nga is a member. There they report me about
their academic result, their activities through semesters. Hence I kept in track of Nga’s information. With a
good grade, she received scholarship of Hanoi university of Technology every semester. Moreover, she
also gained a scholarship of our university Rector two year in succession. I am very proud to say she is
one of the best students who have achievements in both studying and carrying out the youth movements
in our faculty.
I surely support my student to study abroad where she has opportunity to deepen her knowledge, gain

experiences from expert professors, and be in modern laboratories. I am certain that with her
characteristics, she can become a good student and she will prove to be a credit to your university.
