Phân biệt cách sử dụng động từ nguyên mẫu (V inf) và V-ing (danh động từ)

V1 + V2-ing V1 + to + V2 (nguyên thể)
V1 -Admit(thừa nhận), appreciate( đánh giá),
avoid( tránh), consider(cân nhắc),deny
(phủ nhận), delay(trì hoãn), dislike(không
thích), enjoy(thích), explain(giải thích),
fancy(mong ước), feel like(thấy thích),
finish(kết thúc), forgive(tha thứ), can’t
face(không thể đối mặt), can’t help(ko thể
giúp),can’t stand(ko chịu đựng được ),
image(tưởng tượng), keep(tiếp tục)= go
on, mention(đề cập), mind(bận tâm, phiền
đến), miss(nhỡ), postpone(hoãn),
practice(luyện tập), prevent(ngăn cản),
quit = give up(bỏ, từ bỏ), risk(liều),
suggest(đề nghị)…
e.g.1. The man admitted having
stolen a car.
e.g.2. You should avoid mentioning
the death of her son.
Chú ý: V-ing có thể dùng sau:
- it is worth, it it no use, there is no point,
it is no good…
- một số cụm giới từ với: for, of, with,
without, to, at
e.g. look forward to passing the exam.

aim(nhằm mục đích), arrange(sắp xếp),
ask(yêu cầu), attempt(cố gắng), beg(van

xin), choose(chọn), claim(tuyên bố),
come(rốt cuộc), decide( quyết định),
demand(đòi hỏi),determine(quyết định),
expect(hi vọng), fail(thất bại), happen(xảy
ra), help(giúp), hesitate(lưỡng lự), hope(hi
vọng), learn(học), manage(tìm được cách),
mean(có nghĩa là), offer(đề nghị), plan(dự
định), prepare(chuẩn bị), pretend(giả vờ),
promise(hứa), prove(chứng tỏ), refuse( từ
chối), seek(tìm), seem(hình như), tend(có
khuynh hướng), threaten( đe doạ),
want(muốn), wish(mong ước), ….
e.g.1. He agree to pay the bill.
e.g.2. She decided to see him this
afternoon.
Chú ý: to V (inf) có thể dùng sau:
- it is difficult to….
V1 + O(tân ngữ) + V2(nguyên mẫu) V1 + O + to + V2 (nguyên mẫu)
V1 - let (để cho ai làm gì)
- make (làm ai/ làm cho cái gì đó như thế
nào)

- advise(khuyên), allow(cho phép), ask,
beg, challenge(thách thức), urge(thúc
giục), warn(cảnh báo), permit(cho phép),
lead(dẫn), order(ra lệnh), invite(mời),
want, wish, forbid (cấm), tell(kể),

observe(theo dõi), compel(thúc ép), force,
command(ra lệnh), enable(giúp), expect(hi
vọng), get, persuade(thuyết phục),
remind(nhắc nhở), teach, dare(thách đố),
encourage(khuyến khích)…
e.g.1. He advised me to see the doctor.
V1 O V2
e.g.2. My mother wants me to become a
drawer. V1 O V2
forget to V (nguyên thể)
=> hành động chưa xảy ra
e.g. He is absent-minded (đãng trí). He always
forgets to lock the door. (quên chưa khoá cửa)
V-ing
=> hành động đã xảy ra
e.g. His house was stolen. He forgot locking the
door last night. (quên không khoá cửa)
remember To V (nguyên thể)
=> hành động chưa xảy ra
e.g. I will remember to pick you up at the airport.
(tôi sẽ nhớ đón anh tại sân bay)
V-ing
=> hành động đã xảy ra
e.g. I remember being taken to the zoo by my father.
(tôi nhớ được dẫn tới sở thú bởi bố tôi)
regret to V (nguyên thể)
=> tiếc khi phải làm một
việc gì đó
e.g. He regrets to inform you that the meeting has
been cancelled. (anh ấy tiếc thông bá )

V-ing
=> tiếc về một việc đã qua
e.g. We regret having wasted so much time last
week. (chúng tôi tiếc đã lãng phí rất nhiều thời gian
tuần trước)
stop to V (nguyên thể)
=>dừng lại để làm gì
e.g. He stopped his car to buy a present.
(anh ấy dừng ô tô lại để mua một món quà)
V-ing
=> dừng làm việc gì
e.g. He stopped working because of the heavy rain.
(anh ấy dừng làm việc vì trận mưa to)
try To V (nguyên thể)
=> cố gắng để làm gì
e.g. I tried to give up smoking.
(tôi cố gắng bỏ thuốc)
V-ing
=> thử làm gì
e.g. I tried wearing the pair of shoes.
(tôi đã mang thử đôi giày đó)
