Help ss to revise present simple tenses which they learnt
Do some exercises with them.

*Objectives :By the end of the lesson, Ss can know the simple tense and do some
exercises with them.

2. Warm up:
I. The Present Simple Tense:
1. Form: To be
- Affirmative: S + V/Vs/Ves…. S + am/is/are……
- Negative: S + do/does + not + V… S + am/is/are + not…
- Interrogative: Do/Does + S + V….? Am/Is/Are + S ….?
2. Use:
a. Diễn tả một hành động hoặc một thói quen hằng ngày (always, usually, often,
sometimes, occasionally, seldom, rarely, every…….)
Ex: I usually go to school in the afternoon.
b. Diễn tả một chân lý, một sự thật ln ln đúng.
Ex: The earth moves around the sun
3.Notes: He, She, It.
a. Thê.m “S” vào sau các động từ
Ex: Lan often gets up early in the morning.

b. Thêm “ES” vào sau các động từ tận cùng ch, sh, s, x, o, z.
Ex: He watches a lot of TV on Sundays.
c.Độâng từ bằng y trước y là 1 phụ âm ta đổi y _i rồi thêm – es

The Present Progressive Tense

A. Aims:

B. Procedure:
1.Warm up:
How is the usage of the present simple tense?
Give example?
2.New lesson:
. The Present Progressive Tense
- T ask Ss to re- tell structures of present progressive tense
- Usages: diển tả hành động đang xảy ra ngay khi ta nói.
Form :
a. S + is / am / are + V-ing ……….
b. S + is / am / are + not + V-ing ……
c. Is / Am / Are + S + V-ing ….?
Yes, S + be . / No, S + be + not
d. Wh + be + S + V-ing …? -> S + be + V-ing……
-> Present Participle(V-ing) hiện tại phân từ , được thành lập bằng cách thêm –ing vào sau
động từ ngun thể của động từ.
Notes: - Có một số động từ tận cùng bằng chữ e câm: ta phải bỏ chữ e rồi mới thêm ing
vào sau động từ. write – writing, ride – riding , drive - driving….
- Những động từ có một âm ngun âm duy nhất đứng giữa hai phụ âm ta phải gấp đơi phụ
âm cuối rồi mới thêm ing:run – running, swim - swimming, get - getting
EX: I am riding a bike.
She is reading book.
Hoa is listening to music .

* Note:
Một số động từ không dùng ở thì Present Progressive, mà chỉ dùng ở thì Present
Simple: to be, to want, to need, to have (có), to know, to understand….
Ex: - We are tenth-grade students now.
- I understand the lesson at the moment.

I. The future tense
1. Form:
- Affirmative: S + will/shall + Vo.
- Negative: S + will/shall + not + Vo
