Planning is crucial for meeting your needs during each action step with your time, money, or
other resources. With careful planning you often can see if at some point you are likely to face
a problem. Plan also is like a map. When following a plan, you can always see how much you
have progressed towards your project goal.

Like many things in life, if you plan ahead when trying to find bargains you are much more
likely to be successful. Think about the times where you have spent too much money on a
product or service. Did you spend a lot of time planning for that purchase? Chances are
probably not. If you want to be a better shopper and save more money, you need to look at
your planning skills.
In the national economy, the plan is one of the main regulatory tools of the state. also within 1
business or organization, one is planning the first stage, is an important function of the
management process and the facility to promote production efficiency, achieve goals place.
By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” Benjamin Franklin. Planning ahead —
whether that’s for an interview or your first day at work — will give you a much better chance
of success.

2.1. Some concept.
2.1.1. A plan
Plan is a set of activities arranged in schedule with deadlines, resources, set specific goals and
determined the best measure to make a final goal which has been set.

Planning ahead is identifying goals and resources to decide the best way to carry out the
goals. Also predetermine what to do, how to do, when and who will do it. Planning ahead is a
very important step to make us close to where we want to be in the future.
As long as we set up the plan, our management thinking will be more systematic to predict
upcoming situations. We will coordinate all resources of individuals and organizations to

create a synergy that can maintain "the spearhead" on the final goal we want to get. Besides,
we will also check and supervise easily and implement project effectively.
2.2. Types of plans
2.2.1. Short-term plans
- Designed to resolve the target can be achieved in a short time as first few days, 1week, 1
month or 1 year
- Applied in enterprises, which are seasonal businesses with the immediate goal. It has strong
influence to the daily operations of the business.
2.2.2. Medium-term plans
- Made for jobs or events that take 2 to 3 years to complete.
- Applied for seasonal works and specific and detailed jobs
2.2.3. Long-term plans
- Designed to resolve the target can be achieved in over 3 years
- Applied for organizations which have large-scale operations with high stability
- Long-term Plans affect to the existence and activities of the organization.
2.3. Consequences of not planning ahead.
Planning is a very important step in working process for everyone. But there are many people
do not make a habit of making a plan before doing something. That causes lots of
consequences. Firstly, the plan including long-term and short-term plan keeps everyone
informed their necessary actions so that they always remember what they have to do today,
tomorrow, next week or even next year. But if you don’t make a plan, you possibly forget
some small or less important works. Secondly, lacking of planning makes you confused about
what to do first and what to do next because among so many works, you are unable to manage
time in scientific way. Thus, you may fail to achieve your goals. Moreover, poor planning also
causes the situation of “let grass grow under your feet”.
In this case, I feel regret but happy to be your mirror. Last weekend, my friends and I decided
to go to sea for swimming. However, we didn’t make a plan before going so there were some

troubles coming. Firstly, we didn’t watch the broadcast program and it was so terrible because
it rained on that day and we did not bring umbrella. It was not a good idea to go to the sea on

a raining day as well. In addition, we also didn’t find information about our destination so we
couldn’t imagine that the food there was extremely expensive like that. If we did it before we
should have brought about our own food.
Through my own experience, I think it’s totally true to say that “if you don’t make a plan, that
means you are making a plan for failure”.
2.4. The importance of planning ahead
- Before doing something, you should planning. It’s important because if you don’t plan, you
won’t control the time, especially when some problem happen
- Planning for will help you calm down and have better feeling when the started and
everything will take place in the order that you have prepared and you do not have to worry if
an incident occurs. It will help you get high success
- When you plan in advance, there are lower chances of missing out on things to take along
with you when you work or travel.
- Prepare things you need to bring is always important and quiet time consuming, so you
should be careful to not have mistakes
- Planning ahead help you have time to prepare the plans are important with you. Besides, it
shows you the possible risks will happen to you so that you have way treat. And it also helps
you have mentally relaxed before your plan is done. In short, with these somethings in your
life, planning ahead will help you prepare well in all aspects.
2.5. How to plan ahead.
2.5.1. Individuals:
For busy people, it is difficult to control all the work to do. If you're the type that has much to
do or to simply forget you, why not set up a schedule for yourself and use the "individual
plan"? Sure your job will be a lot more smoothly.
There are many planning programs suitable for each person with different needs. If you need
to manage time for each hour of the day, you should plan for each hour parsimonious. If your
operation can change and do not follow a certain time frame does not plan to divide a section
and page numbering would be more appropriate. Always identify the starting point and the
deadline for any job. This helps you to limit the amount of time wasted miscellaneous
