The objects.
ZnO films composed of nanowires and nanorods were fabricated
on the Si substrates

electrodes by the vapor - phase
transport method. The humidity sensitive characteristics of the films
have been investigated. These nanoslructured films show humidity
sensitivity, good long-term stability. It was found that the resistance of
the films decreases with increasing relative humidity (RH). It is reliably
believed that the ZnO nanomalerial films will be used as efficient
humidity sensors.

The content of research.
ZnO has a direct bandgap
of
3.37 eV and high mechanical and thermal
stabilities at room temperature. One-dimensional nanostructured ZnO
materials have recently stimulated great interest due to their importance in
basic scientific research and potential applications in numerous areas such as
nanoscale electronic and photonic. The traditional approaches to synthesize
one-dimensional ZnO nanostructures are the vapor - phase transport process
with the assistance of metal catalysis, thermal evaporation and template -
assisted growth [1].
The humidity control is essential for various fields of industry as well
as human life. In this work, ZnO
films
composed of nanowires and nanorods
were fabricated, respectively, on the Si substrate by the vapor - phase
transport process, and their humidity sensitivity characteristics have been
investigated.
