SUGGESTED ESSAYS FOR WRITTEN TESTS
1- The traffic problems in our city and how to solve them
Transportation plays an important part in our life. It not only enables people and
goods to move freely but it also helps people to access services and opportunities.
However, when our country develops, we have to face many traffic problems. In this
essay, I will discuss some traffic problems and the solutions involved.
Firstly, nearly all streets and roads in our city are narrow in bad condition, and
continually dug. In addition, the traffic system does not work well, and there are not
enough traffic police.
Moreover, many people do not strictly observe traffic laws when using the roads. For
example, they cross the street at wrong places and ride their motors in the wrong
direction.
Also, many vendors illegally occupy the pavement to display their goods or sale, so
pedestrians have to use the road-bed. Another point which is concerning is that the
number of trucks in our city is very big. As a result, they usually interfere with traffic
flow.
To solve the traffic problems in our city, we should do many things. At first, the
government should increase the number of the police force, and they should be stricter
to those who disobey the laws. Moreover, all streets should be widened, and traffic
lines should be more logical. Finally, heavy penalties should be imposed on violators,
and people should be educated with traffic regulations at the same time.
In short, I hope traffic problems in our city will be solved soon so that we feel very
comfortable when using the road
2- You need a job for three months in the summer, and you have seen an
advertisement in a newspaper about a temporary job as a tourist guide in
your town or city. Write a letter applying for the post
Dear Sir or Madam,
With reference to your advertisement in our local paper, I would like to apply for the
position of a temporary tourist guide who will complete the task within three months

in the summer.
I feel I am well qualified for the position because of the following reasons:
First, I have got my Certificate in Tourism Guiding granted by HCM University of
Industry. The Certificate is of great importance for everyone who would like to
perform in the tourism career. Secondly, I am capable of working individually
without help under any circumstances. Also, I have my own experience in leading and
helping tourists when they visit new places. As you can see in my CV, this time last
year I was working as a tourist guide for HH Tour company located in HCM City. I
was in charge of leading a group of 15 tourists to visit Nha Trang Port. I completed
the work successfuly and I was highly appreciated for doing the work.
Moreover, I am able to speak English as fluently as a native English speaker. I am in
good shape and of good health for the work. I also have an ID card which indicates
that I am allowed to operate in SS beach. In addition to that, I am native of SS beach I
will be able to accompany people who are traveling through or visiting my home
place and I will furnish them with necessary information or comments concerning the
place they are going to visit.
I would be happy to give you more details and can be contacted at any time.
I would be happy to come for an interview at any time convenient to you
I enclose a copy of my CV
A full CV is attached
I look forward to hearing from you
Yours faithfully
3- Which do you think is more valuable-health or wealth?
Many people believe that they are happy when they possess as much wealth as
possible. I believe, however, health is more valuable than wealth. No one will be able
to live and work without a sound and healthy body and mind.
Health is the most important thing that people can possess. Good health brings about
more happiness than good wealth does. If we have wealth, we can have one thing, but
if we have health, we have everything. When we are quite fit, strong and healthy, we
feel happy and we can do things easily. If we don’t have a good health, we will not be

able to overcome difficulties in our life. Such people as the deaf, dumb or blind
cannot live an independent life. They have to rely on many other people even though
they are well trained or well to do.
Another thing is that good health leads to a clear mind whereas wealth does not.
When we think of possessing wealth or making money we are often under pressure.
When we are free from disease or illnesses, we don’t have to think of better ways to
help the body recover. In stead, we feel we are strong enough to do as many things as
we desire, we can think of noble things, meaning that we can create a great wealth.
Therefore, it’s very important for us to recognize that health is the most valuable thing
in the world.
In conclusion, we should feel free from being presses by possessing wealth and
should always maintain our good health which is the most valuable thing in life.
4- The development of tourism in Vietnam
Tourism is regarded as a non-smoking industry which plays an important part in the
development of many countries. In Vietnam, tourism has developed from a small-
scale branch into a key industry in the work of industrialization and modernization of
the country.
During the Civil War, Vietnamsese tourism appeared to meet the demand for serving
guests from our Central Communist Party and State and foreign guests via diplomatic
relations. After the Viet nam War ended, the tourism began to establish and develop
the facilities for the new industry. In this period, the tourism faced difficulties due to
destruction of the War and the embargoes set by the U.S. From 1975 to 1990, the
Vietnamese tourism continued to expand in different provinces. Many state-owned
businesses were set up, which marked a new development of the tourism industry.
Thanks to the economic reform policy in 1986, the restoration of diplomatic relations
with the U.S, and the entry into ASEAN in 1995, the Vietnamese tourism industry has
experienced a strong development period. Over the past 15 years, the number of
tourists has increased by more than 20% each year on average. The number of
international tourists to Vietnam has increased 11 fold, from 250,000 in 1990 to about
3.4 million in 2005. The tourism industry has earned more than VND 30 billion,

exceeding the plan. Tourist arrivals are expected to reach more than 6 million from
2006 onward.
In general, the development of tourism in Vietnam has brought about a new face for
the country and opportunities for our people. In the future, tourism will truly become
a pillar industry of the national economy of Vietnam.
5- Suggest some ways in which education might be improved in your
country
Education plays an important role in the development of many countries all over the
world. Many countries have tried to find better ways to enhance their education. In
Vietnam, it is important that our government take effective measures to improve our
education.
First of all, the government should encourage all citizens to go to school by making
learning at all levels free of charge. This will help poor and middle-class families
reduce the pressure of finding ways for their members to finance their study. Once
people are freely educated, they can work and support themselves and their families.
They can also devote their parts in the development of the country.
In addition, the government should invest more money in building infrastructure and
buying equipments for teaching and learning activities so that learners can enjoy the
best conditions for their learning and get good results.
Furthermore, both teaching and learning methods should be introduced and improved
so that students are more active in their learning in order to develop their creative
skills.
Moreover, teaching curriculum should base on the demand of the society and focus
more on practical values so that learners can find jobs and do their work effectively
right after graduation. Finally, teachers, who spend all their hearts and souls in educating children,
the future of the country, are very important for the development of our education. In Vietnam, teachers earn
a low salary that somehow prevents them from accomplishing their works and realizing their dreams—to
make a better education for their countries. In my opinion, in order to improve education, the government
should raise teachers’ salaries.
To sum up, with the above solutions I hope that VN can improve its education system.

6- Write a description account of a visit to a famous historic monument
To the best of my knowledge, there are a lot of famous historic monuments in our
country but for me the monument I will never forget is HCM Mausoleum, a historic
place located in the Capital of our country. Following is what happened to my last
visit to the monument.
As planned, I left for Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum by motorbike with my two close
friends and reached there earlier in the morning of the Independence Day. The first
impression on me was a spacious and solemn monument. There is a beautiful lawn
near a wonderful lotus pond. We sat on it for a while and enjoyed the outside view
with many lotuses. At the time, we took a lot of photos of the outside monument with
great scene. Soon, fortunately, we followed some foreign visitors with a tourist guide.
The monument was built as a temple. That day, the entrance fee of the monument was
free. When we entered inside, we saw a large number of people standing on stairs in a
long queue there. Inside it, a lot of people were worshiping and looking around to
learn more about Uncle Ho’s past life. Finally, we also entered inside, worshiped, and
listened to the guide introducing Ho Chi Minh’s historic events.
After that, we went to the back of the monument. Surprisingly, there were many old
trees all around. The scene looked beautiful. We went around and enjoyed fresh, pure
air with a lot of big trees. Then we took a rest under a big tree for a while. We took
photos together and talked to some foreigners.
It was quite an enjoyable trip for us. We leaned a lot about Ho Chi Minh, a great
president. Actually, we are very proud of him. We always take his examples as a
mirror to follow. We found the visit absolutely familiar, exciting and full of great
interest. Surely, we will visit the monument every year.
7- What are the advantages and disadvantages of air travel?
Among means of transport, air travel is considered as the most comfortable and
convenient way to travel. However, there are some advantages and disadvantages of
air travel.
Talking about the advantages first, it’s obvious that flying is so convenient now that
you can travel almost anywhere, in your own country or any place in the entire world.

In addition, flying is the fastest way for people to come to the furtherst destination.
Moreover, the airplane gives you freedom and extra time. There are no stressful traffic
jams, and planes are so fast and comfortable that you can use the time in different
ways. For example, you can just sit and read, or watch the world go by. You can work
or you can have a meal or a snack during the flight.
However, traveling by air also has some disadvantages. First, it is so expensive that a
lot of people cannot afford to buy plane tickets for them to travel around the world.
Second, the most annoyed problem people normally meet when they travel by air is
airport delays because with all the people travelling these days, airport are overcroded
and planes get delayed a lot even canceled. In addition, the security precautions can
slow things down, which makes passengers feel bored during the flight. Furthermore,
you have to travel at certain times and planes cannot take you from door-to-door. For
example, you need a bus or a taxi to take you to the airport.
To sum up, although traveling by air has some disadvantages, it is the safest and
fastest way to travel. I prefer traveling by plane to traveling by train or by car. I feel
more relaxed when I reach my destination.
8- You tell a foreigner about your beloved homeland
As planned, today I am going to talk to you about VN, our beloved homeland. First, I
will introduce some physical features of the country to you, then our long-struggling
history will be unveiled and our position in the world in the present days will be
discussed.
Take the features of the country first, as you know, our country has an S-shape,
stretching from the South China Sea to Ca Mau cape with a surface of 320,000 square
kilometers and a population of more than seventy millions. Most people live on
agriculture. The Red River and the Mekong River deltas are the two rice-baskets of
the whole country. Vietnam is holding the third place among the rice-exporting
countries.
Our Vietnam people, through many years living under the yoke of French colonists,
Japanese fascists and American imperialists, had to undergo great hardships and
sufferings. But with an unyielding spirit and with the wise leadership of the

Vietnamese Communist Party, our Vietnam people launched a long and courageous
struggle against foreign invaders and finally succeeded in sweeping all of them out of
the country. On April 30, 1975, we were able to restore our whole freedom and
independence. The entire country has been reunited from North to South.
Immediately after peace had been restored on our territory, we began to heal the
wounds of the war and started to reconstruct our nation. With the help and
contribution of our friends all over the world and with our efforts, Vietnam has gone
out of crisis and the Vietnamese people have joined together to make the country
become modernized and industrialized. Since Vietnam joined WTO in 1997, the
country has achieved great success and become one of the wealthiest and most
powerful countries in South East Asia.
In conclusion, although our country has experienced hardships and difficulties during
the wars, Vietnamese people nowadays are trying to close their eyes to the past and
longing for the development in the future.
9- “Should university students be encouraged to take up part time job?”
Nowadays, more and more students work park-time jobs while they are at university.
Some people think that working part-time jobs is a good way for students to enrich
their life, but others have a negative attitude. In my opinion, I agree with the positive
one. My arguments for this point are listed as follows.
First of all, although university education plays a very significant role in one’s later
life, some students have to do some part-time jobs to afford their education. It is a
common sense that a large majority of students think that always spending parents’
money is a very shameful act for the university students. They work part-time jobs
because they want to prove the fact that they are grown up and not dependent on their
parents
In addition, it’s undeniable fact that society requires students not only to have a good
command of academic qualities but also to grasp social skills. Taking part-time jobs
will provide us the opportunity to make up for what we cannot receive in the school.
For instance, from doing part-time jobs, we can learn how to be a good employee,
how to take responsibility and how to deal with co-workers and so on.

Finally, maybe from doing part-time jobs we can find out our real field of interest, and
it may lead us to the success. During part-time job, students can get a deeper
understanding about their major. School education can only instill abstract knowledge
but cannot teach us how to imply them in our daily life. For example, my major is
architectural design, it is very helpful for me to get a practical design experience.
In conclusion, the advantages of taking part-time job outweigh its disadvantages. By
doing part-time jobs, we can release our parents’ financial burden, grasp more useful
social skills and find out our real interest and obtain some practical experiences.
10- “Will the computer ever take place of the teacher?”
Nowadays, with the help of advanced technmology, computers have been widely used
in many aspects of our life. Many people think that the computer can do a lot of things
even it can replace a teacher, but others have opposite points of views. I am in favour
of the latter because of the reasons as follows.
First of all, in the classroom, nothing can take the place of the teacher in terms of
developing students’ education. The teacher is the only one who can open the door to
education for students. He/she brings with students varied and useful backgrounds.
He/she has been trained to teach individuals in different ways depending on his/her
style. For instance, some students learn better by discussing a topic. Others learn more
by writing about it. The teacher can help students learn in the way that’s best for each
student. A computer can only give you the way of learning something technologically
as a useful tool. Also it’s as helpful as your ability to understand it. A good teacher
can adapt his or her teaching to your needs.
Another reason why the teacher cannot be replaced by the wonderful machine is that
the teacher can give the students the real essence of education by nourishing students’
hearts and opening students’ minds during the classroom teaching whereas the
computer can provide only the necessary data and information students need.
Furthermore, it’s the teacher who can not only show students how to collect the
necessary information but alse how it should be used so as to be come good
knowledgeable and educated people. In this sense, again, the computer’s performance
is nothing compared to the teacher’s. One more reason why the teacher is second to

none when it comes to the classroom teaching is that he or she can help students in
such a way that students finally find themselves able to help themselves and get self-
educated even long after finishing the class. Perhaps this may be the most significant
fact that makes the difference between the teacher and the computer.
To sum up, it can be said that in the classroom teaching the teacher plays a major role
whereas the computer plays a minor role. To put it another way, the teacher has got a
unique human brain that can perform teaching in such a way that the computer cannot
do.
11- “Making a decision on one’s first job is difficult”

After graduating from colleges, universities, or any educational institutions, most
of the students are eager to do something useful for their life and the society as well.
The first thing they have to do is to try their best to find a good job. However,
sometime it’s difficult for them to make a decision on their first jobs, due to some of
the following seasons.
First of all, there’re a lot of job opportunities available for them to choose so they
have to think carefully about their decision. Those who choose the jobs unrelated to
their majors have to change jobs all the time, which makes their life difficult.
However, with appropriate decision, they may find the kinds of the jobs which best fit
their majors and they will be happy to do that job all their life
Secondly, they have to decide whether they are interested in the money side or job
satisfaction when they apply for a job. This may be a big question for them when
choosing a job because there is a fact that some people find an interesting job with
low salary whereas many people receive the boring job with which they get high paid.
It’s common sense that people often wonder whether they are going to work for a
government company with job security but low benefits or to work for a private
company with less job security but high benefits.
Apart from money side, people have to care about other factors such as working,
opportunities, working enviroment, colleague relationship, etc. All these things make
them feel bored when they have to decide to take any job in order to support their

lives and their families as well.
In conclusion, there are some reasons that make it difficult for people when they
decide to choose their first jobs as mentioned above.
12- The computer is changing our way of life
With the development of science and technology computers have become essential
tools that help ease our daily life. In fact, the computer has changed our life in many
ways and aspects. In my opinion, the computer is changing our way of life in terms of
our daily tasks, finances and time.
To begin with, computers help us by making things less difficult. In our daily life,
people use both hands to accomplish tasks, but with just a click on the screen of a
computer people can control all objects and do many things necessasy in their daily
life. In fact, there is a well-known program called “Microsoft Word” that actually
helps people do their tasks in a faster, easier and more effective way. For instance,
you may finish most of your assignments online with more correct answers. You can
write an essay or a report by just sitting at home and doing research on the computer.
You may use your computer to save your photo albums so you will not lose any old
pictures even if your home is struck by calamities.
Secondly, finances can be very difficult without any tools, but when you have access
to a computer you can do any banking and/or business transactions using online
computers. For example, you can shop on the Internet through any of the Internet
shops accessible. You can acquire and market just about anything. The purchased
products can be delivered in a few hours or days. You can transfer funds, pay your
bills and do any banking transactions right at home, in front of your computer.
There’s no need to get out of your house.
Finally, computers can dramatically decrease the amount of time necessary to get the
job done. For example, it may take a person five hours to finish their shopping needs
including the time to get to the destination and the time to get back home. But if the
person shops online the item may be a click away and be at the door within a few
days. Also, one may pay the bills online, which saves time for the mail carrier. This is
very beneficial if your bills are on the verge of being late.

To sum up, the computer is a very useful tool that can change the way a person lives.
The computer affects us by facilitating our daily tasks, changing the perspective of
finances and saving the amount of time we need to spend.
13- The plusses and minuses of professionalism
Professionalism plays an important role in many different aspects of life. Many people
believe professionalism brings about the effectiveness at work with high capacity but
others have opposite points of views. In this essay, I will present my arguments for
and against professionalism as follows.
To begin with, one of the most important things people gain when working
professionally is that they learn and develop their focus and hardwork. It’s obvious
that working hard is the mother of your success and you have to get used to working
hard. Also, professionalism helps you to have a very clear view on the individual
goals that you are expected to achieve as well as the group goals that you have to
contribute. Furthermore, professionalism helps create opportunities for employees to
get promotion. When working in an office, employees are forced to work in a
competitive environment. That’s why some people are more trustworthy and more
reliable than others and they are always respected, looked up to as compared to the
other employees. Consequently, they deserve higher position and better salary in the
organization. In addition to that, employees build up their skills when working
professionally. To achieve success, workers have to possess such skills as soft skills
and communication skills. For example, when dealing with senior managers or your
teammates, you have to learn to use the right words and vocabulary to communicate,
respect other’s opinions and view points, you have to try to talk and listen as well.
However, there are several minuses of professionalism. Firstly, professionalism has a
negative influence on people’s lives. As people work like a machine and focus much
on their work, they are stiff and unapproachable and/ or sometimes they behave
strangely. Moreover, professionalism makes employees sometimes feel awkwark
when they go out with their co-workers or teammates. At work they seem to be
professional but in their real life, things are different. Some people may be friendly or
inhospital with each other. Even people are discovering bad things about their

colleagues which they have never known before. In addition, working under pressure
is the reality of many people’s professional lives. Some people have to deal with very
high pressure every minute of their lives while others have to cope with it as the
project deadline approaches. It is clear that people often find it difficult to keep
themselves cool while working under pressure.
In conclusion, professionalism has its plusses and minuses, it’s impossible to
formulate an unequivocal judgement about it. However I am in favour of the plusses
of professionalism.
14- Juvenile delinquency results from parent’s permissiveness
Many parents feel that permissive parenting is a positive method of raising their
children. I believe, however, that the parents are the ones who are responsible for their
doings which lead to juvenile delinquency. My arguments for this point are listed as
follows.
To begin with, the permissive parents believe that showing their child love and feeling
loved is the most important goal in parenting. They love their children and are highly
bonded to them. They think that rules, disciplines or regulations do not work in the
family at all. This may lead them to over-indulge their children and, in turn, the
children have trouble following the rules out in the world which leads to struggles
with their teachers and other authorities. When these children grow up into a new
world different from their family, they are easily angry, get confused and/or
embarrassed. Consequently, they do things violently in real life.
In addition, if the parents are too permissive, their children will be easily affected by
the dangerous surroundings. Because parents believe that their children can look after
themselves, they do not control their children, sometimes they are not at home when
their children return from school. This allows the children to roam the streets and
make friens with some bad guys. As a result, these children are easily spoilt without
the parents’ guidance.
Moreover, the permissive parents often let their children do many things. The children
are often free to do whatever they want, they don’t force them to obey the rules or
control themselves. They become so greedy and impatient to do anything. In other

words, when these children come into real life, they lead a loose life, disobey the
discipline, do things dangerously at their will. Consequently, it is easier for them to
commit crimes and/or do bad acts such as: drinking, stealing, taking drugs and
become a threat to the society.
To sum up, we know through experience that permissive parenting does not work. As
parents we should take care of the children, guide them to do good things and become
good members of the society.
15- The aim of life is to earn as much as money as possible

Many people think that the aim of life is to earn as much money as possible. I agree
that earning as much money as possible is a good idea. In my opinion, the main aim of
life is to work and earn money to show that somebody is successful, smart and a good
candidate for marriage.
To begin with, money equals success. People work to earn money because they need
money to live. When you have jobs, you want to earn a lot of money. If you earn a lot
of money, the people around you will think that you are successful. As a result, with
the money earned, you can wear nice clothes, buy big cars, and spend a lot of money
on traveling. This fact indicates that you are so rich and successful that all people
admire you.
Secondly, earning a lot of money means that you are very intelligent. It is clear that
not many people earn a lot of money. When you work, you will have to take full use
of your brain to make friends with your workmates, have good relationships with your
boss so that they will do you a favour and you will have a good chance to get as much
money as you can. Therefore, earning a lot of money will show people how smart you
are. Everyone knows that you can’t be stupid and earn a lot of money.
Finally, when you earn a lot of money, you will be able to find a good wife. It is is a
fact that today many people find it difficult to manage in life. Having a stable job and
earning a lot of money mean that you have good conditions for someone to depend
on. This will make it easy for any girl to choose you since all girls want to marry a
rich and successful man.

To sum up, working to earn as much money as possible seems to be the main aim of
people in modern life. Having a well-paid job will show everyone that you are
successful, smart and eye-catching.
16- Learning is a lifelong process
Nowadays, education plays an impportant part in our lives. It is essential that we
never stop learning and lifelong education is a must if you wish to succeed. There is a
fact that learning is a life-long process. As far as I’m concerned, I totally agree with
this opinion because of some reasons.
First of all, life-long learning is a key to ensure that we keep up-to-date with
developments in our particular field and it is also an important source of motivation,
stimulation and job satisfaction. For example, somebody who works in a particular
place for three years and during that time continues to learn and develop is likely to
experience greater job satisfaction than someone who stays in the same post for three
years, simply repeating the basic tasks in the same way without any learning or
development over that time.
In addition, lifelong learning helps people to adapt to change successfully. We are
living in the Knowledge Age, which means that the ability to apply the right
knowledge effectively is an important skill and the cornerstone of our success. If
someone ever doubts the strength of knowledge and learning, just ask one who hasn't
used a computer in 10 years to find an article on the Internet. The advancement of
technology has boosted the pace of our lives, and requires us to learn something new
each day. It's advantageous for everyone to make time for learning, seek out their own
opportunities, use available resources wisely, and find new resources.
Finally, lifelong learning helps us make new friends and establish valuable
relationships. No one enjoys loneliness. And through lifelong learning, older people
are meeting new people, forging friendships and relationships with others, and
enjoying an active social life. “Lifelong learning is a brilliant way to keep in touch
with people, meet new friends, and enjoy life surrounded by the company of folks
who are truly embracing the excitement of our later years.”
In short, learning is always a life-long process that requires people to spend time mastering

many new things in a non-stop developing society. And no one can deny the benefits
that the knowledge brings back to its owners.
17- Should young people change their jobs often? Or shouldn’t they?
Nowadays, a lot of young people keep the same jobs for different purposes when they
enter labor force. I believe, however, that young people are advised to take many jobs
opportunities and they should change their jobs very often. My arguments for this
point are listed as follows.
First of all, by positively changing their jobs, young people can enrich their
knowledge. There is a fact that when moving to a new job, young people will have to
face all the difficulties and challenges of the new job. Therefore, they must work
harder to learn new techniques and skills to catch up with the new requirements. In
this way, young people can improve their abilities and fulfill their jobs effectively and
successfully. If young people stay with a stated position, they tend to be involved in
their daily activities with all their time and energy without further progress.
Secondly, changing jobs gives young people a feeling of curiosity and drives them to
discover various new opportunities for them. As usual, young people are curious
about new jobs they happened to see through advertisements and they are excited
about having the new jobs with attractive benefits, higher salaries and/or good
working conditions… This seems to be the propeller that pushes them to work better
and better.
Finally, changing jobs can improve people’s adaptability. When young people come
to new jobs, their environment has changed so differently that they have to change
themselves to get used to the new surrounding quickly. For example, they have to
make friends with new workmates, have good relationships with the new employers,
obey the new regulations and follow the new timetable so on and so on. All these
things make them feel excited and they can explore their talents better and deeper.
In conclusion, although many people choose to stay in their jobs, I prefer changing
jobs because I can improve my knowledge, take my chances and explore my abilities
to work.
18- Should young people be interested in the money side when they apply for

a job?
Nowadays, young people tend to be more interested in the money side when they
apply for a job. I believe, however, that it’s not a good idea for young people to be
interested much in the money side. My arguments for this point are listed as follows.
First of all, knowledge and skills for a job are much more important than the money
side. We know that an experienced person may be considered as a valuable asset for a
business. A company may lose a lot of money when some important positions are
vacant and it has to look for someone who is qualified or takes a lot of time to train a
new person. Therefore, more experienced and skillful people are often highly paid. It
is advisable that young people should focus more on developing their ability and
quality to meet the requirements of the job they applied for.
Secondly, money-making may have bad influence on young people. When young
people are more interested in money than anything else, they can do illegal thing or
harmful things to other people. Also, when people are too busy to earn money, they
have no time for their family and their hobbies and they will become a slave of
money.
Finally, job satisfaction should be put above money when choosing a job. Although
people work to earn money, money is not the main reason people stay in their jobs.
Some people work because they need money to live on but many other people work
because they enjoy working. These people like to go to an office or store each day.
They also like interact with other people and help them solve the problems. By so
doing, can they find happiness in their jobs. When young people satisfy with their
jobs, they will do their best in working and get promotion. Consequently, they can
earn a lot of money.
To sum up, young people are still young so they have a long time to work and earn
money. Therefore, young people shouldn’t concern much about the money side when
looking for a job.
19- Advertising on television is beneficial to viewers
Nowadays, people hold the opinion that advertising on television is beneficial to
viewers. As far as I am concerned, I agree with this statement. My arguments for this

point are listed as follows.
First of all, it is clear that advertising on TV can tell you a lot about a country.
Advertising is always a reflection of a country’s culture and customs. Advertising is
different from country to country, depending on the country’s particular traditions.
For example, a Vietnamese advertisement may feature a Vietnamese girl with
traditional ‘Ao dai’ dress whereas an American advertisement may feature a western
cowboy with a hat and ride a horse. Through advertisements on TV, we can have a
general understanding of what people from other countries look like, what they wear
during their daily life, what they eat and what they do during their free time.
Secondly, advertising on TV helps us know information about new products or
products that we are in need. A great deal of the knowledge we have about household
goods largely comes from the advertisements on TV that we happen to watch. We can
know who produces the products and where they are manufactured. For example,
when we see a Toyota or a SONY advertisement on TV, we realize that these
products are from Japan and Japanese people always see quality as an important
aspect of their products.
In addition, with advertisements, we become curious about the products advertised on
TV and we are willing to spend more time to read, watch and explore more about
them. Consequently, we can have ideas about a range of products of the same kind
and it’s useful for us to compare between products and give a final decision to buy the
products that we would like to buy.
To sum up, the viewers benefit much from watching advertisements on TV. They all
regard advertising as a useful service to many people in modern life.
