Students are able to write a letter to invite their friends to their parties.

Brain storming
- Ask sts to answer some questions to get idea
to write a letter of invitation.
1. On what occasions are parties held?
2. What kind of clothes do people often wear at
a party?
3. What kinds of presents do people often bring
to a party?
4. Whom do people often invite to the party?
- Guide the way to write a letter of invitation
and the order of letter.
First paragraph
+ Say what party you are going to give and
invite your friends to come
Ex: We are having a birthday party for my
sister. We’d like you to come to this event


Second paragraph
+ Say where and when you intend to organize
the party
Ex: The party will take place/start at 7 p.m at
my house/Mai Phuong restaurant…
+ Say how many people you plan to invite and
who they are
Ex: We plan to invite/have some of our friends
that you already know/ that are both fun and
interesting.
+ Say what activities will take place at the party
Ex: Please come to join the singing and dancing
- Answer some questions
Expected answers:
- Occasions: birthday, wedding anniversary,
farewell, house warming party …
- Formal clothes
- Presents: flowers, souvenir, chocolate,
- People: friends, relatives, ……
- Listen to and take note.

+ Say what foods and drinks will be served at
the party.
Ex: There will be lots of special food and
drinks
Third paragraph
+Say you are delighted to see your friend’s
coming.

Ex: I’d be happy if you could come
Your coming will be my pleasure.
Writing
- Ask sts to write their letter for their friends.
- Go around and help if necessary.
Feedback and correction
- Write some points which sts use to feedback
their writing.

necessary details by answering all the questions
on the list we had made before?
2. Grammar:
Did you use the prepositions and the
articles correctly?
3. Spelling:
Did you make any spelling mistakes?
- Ask sts to work in pairs and correct the
mistakes in their writing.
- Go around and help sts if necessary.
IV. Consolidation:
- Ask sts to talk about what have just leant.
V. Evaluation and saying goodbye
- Give comment about sts attitude
- Ask sts to do exercise in exercise book and
prepare next part.
- Write their letter for their friends.
- Look at the board
- Work in pairs and correct the mistakes in
their writing.
