In the first part of the twentieth century , before a television set was a part of most households , radio
programming was different from what it is now . Many people were interested in listening to ‘Story

Christmas is the biggest festival of the year in most of Britain . Celebrations start properly on
24December , Christmas Eve . It is a family celebration and many of the customs center on children .
When they go to bed on Christmas Eve , children hang up a pillow case or a sack for their presents .
