Qui tắc thêm“ing”sau độngtừ:
+ những động từ tận cùng là chữ “e”- bỏ “ e” rồi mới thêm “ ing”. Likeà liking.(trừ động từ to be và những
động từ tận cùng là “ee”: seeàseeing
+ những động từ một âm tiết, tận cùng là một phụ âm, trước nó là một trong những nguyên âm sau( a, e, i, o,

u), phải gấp đôi phụ âm rồi mới thêm “ ing”.Stopà stopping.
- sau câu mệnh lệnh (V ! ) động từ phải chia ở thì hiện tại tiếp diễn.
