How have you been ? In your previous letter you have asked me about a person who I
admire most. I strongly believe that the person who inspires me the most is my mom ( Mrs

First of all she is the one that gave me LIFE! Although my mother is not very modern and
beautiful, there is a whole bunch of reasons why I admire HER.
One reason is that my mother is always honest and close to me. Whenever I go out, she
waits for and phones me so I feel so safe about that. Even when I’m outside alone, she’s still
watching me from the window.
Another reason why she inspires me is because she supports me as a good teacher. If it is
for homework, putting something together or even when I’m playing. She’s always there
teaching me new things. Last reason she inspires me is she loves me no matter what. She
loves me when I do a great job on something, or when I help my sister even when I do some
thing wrong my mother always tries to understand and makes me see the things the a proper

way. Sometimes my mom is so busy doing house work or tired but if I need her help, she
stops and comes to me.
For example, Last year when I was riding my bike, I crashed into a tree and my mom was
the only one there to help me up and get me patched up with some huge bandages. After she
did that, she helped me a lot getting everywhere because it hurt when I walked.
Thirdly, my mom takes good care of me. When I get illness my mom not only gives the
medicine but also stays with me massaging my head and make sure that I get the rest I need.
My lovely mom always supports, helps, hugs, kisses, gives me confidence, listens, makes
me laugh, cheers me up, wipes my tears. My mother will be in my mind forever… I hope to

WRITE ABOUT A SPORTING EVENT YOU SAW RECENTLY.
As a huge sports fan I’d say that the most widespread sporting event would probably be
the Summer Olympic Games which is held once every four years. Hence the sporting event I
will talk about is the 2012 Olympics Games which were held in London.
Firstly, As you may know the Olympics Games is a sporting event where athletes from
all over the world compete against each other while representing their own countries. It
includes different types of sports such as ball sports, athletics, gymnastics and… etcetera.
Secondly, I am quite fond of swimming so I remember one evening I and my father
were watching the 1500m free style on television. When I was watching this I was thinking
about how long and how hard the swimmers must have trained in order for them to swim
1500m without stopping. To my surprise the winner of this race was actually a Chinese
competitor, Sun Young. My father was really overjoyed and cheerful because China has
never won a gold medal in swimming before. The next day this event was all over the news
and all the media was praising him.
In conclusion I and my family like the summer Olympic games in 2012 so much
because all the competitors do all their best and the relationship between them is so close

and wonderful. I am looking forward to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio and I think that this
future event will be more interesting and wonderful to the spectators in the world./.

Firstly, jogging is considered as an easy exercise- low running, we don’t need to spend

Especially , jogging helps people have good heart beats and good legs. Moreover, jogging
also helps people reduce stress from life or work. Thank to that people can improve their
chance of living longer and healthier because taking exercise can help them protect
themselves from heart disease, cancers or diabetes.
Secondly , When people take this activity they don’t cost much money and they may
feel very confident so that it is very easy for them to get success in their business.
Thirdly, doing morning exercise can help everyone control their weight effectively. In
this way people don’t cost too much to go to doctors and drink medicine because sometimes
dug can cause some negative effects.
With many benefits from taking exercise I hope that there will be a lot of people taking

The ancient town of Hoi An, 30 km south of Da Nang, lies on the banks of the Thu
Bon River. Occupied by early western traders, Hoi An was one of the major trading centers

tile-roofed houses and narrow streets; the original structure of some of these streets still

ornamental designs. There is no shortage of bacon in town, but Cao Lầu is the dish that one
simply can not miss. Prices and service are rightfully on par with the latest venues in major
cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh. People are very friendly in Hoi An. Over the last few
years, Hoi An has become a very popular tourist destination in Vietnam.

What is the closing sentence?
The closing sentence is the last sentence in a paragraph.
What does it do?
It restates the main idea of your paragraph.
How do I write one?
Restate the main idea of the paragraph using different words.

Example:
There are three reasons why Canada is one of the best countries in the world. First, Canada
has an excellent health care system. All Canadians have access to medical services at a
reasonable price. Second, Canada has a high standard of education. Students are taught by
well-trained teachers and are encouraged to continue studying at university. Finally,
Canada's cities are clean and efficiently managed. Canadian cities have many parks and lots
of space for people to live. As a result, Canada is a desirable place to live .
PART 2: How to Write a Paragraph
1. Prewriting Paragraphs
What is the prewriting stage?
The prewriting stage is when you think carefully and organize your ideas for your paragraph
before you begin writing.
Six Prewriting Steps:
1. Think carefully about what you are going to write. Ask yourself:
• What question am I going to answer in this paragraph or essay?
• How can I best answer this question? What is the most important part of my answer?
• How can I make an introductory sentence (or thesis statement) from the most important
part of my answer?
• What facts or ideas can I use to support my introductory sentence?
• How can I make this paragraph or essay interesting?
• Do I need more facts on this topic?
• Where can I find more facts on this topic?
2. Open your notebook. Write out your answers to the above questions. You do not need to
spend a lot of time doing this; just write enough to help you remember why and how you are
going to write your paragraph or essay.
3. Collect facts related to your paragraph or essay topic. Look for and write down facts
that will help you to answer your question. Timesaving hint: make sure the facts you are
writing are related to the exact question you are going to answer in your paragraph or essay.
4. Write down your own ideas. Ask yourself:
• What else do I want to say about this topic?

• Why should people be interested in this topic?
• Why is this topic important?
5. Find the main idea of your paragraph or essay. Choose the most important point you
are going to present. If you cannot decide which point is the most important, just choose one
point and stick to it throughout your paragraph or essay.
6. Organize your facts and ideas in a way that develops your main idea. Once you have
chosen the most important point of your paragraph or essay, you must find the best way to
